Age: 26. Nichola Yuen joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club's Trainee Programme in 2016 as a Trainee Apprentice Jockey and rode trackwork in Hong Kong for trainers Jimmy Ting, Ricky Yiu, Cody Mo and Manfred Man. She commenced overseas training in South Australia in 2021. Having initially been attached to Richard Jolly's stable, she subsequently moved to Gary Searle, riding more than 60 winners at a strike rate above 8%. Yuen completed her training in South Australia in 2024 before moving to New Zealand for further experience, where she posted 10 winners at a 10% strike rate. She then moved to South Africa in September 2025 to continue her training ahead of her move to Hong Kong on a full-time basis. She made her Hong Kong debut on 1 April, 2026 and opened her Hong Kong account at the same meeting aboard PI Legend. She closed out her rookie season with 14 wins.
