Well-backed California Blitz pinged the start to lead and after straightening a length on top, he kept up the strong gallop for a third win from 20 starts. It was a much-improved effort under Zac Purton at his third start this term. Favourite Ace Champion ran on strongly for second after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a solid effort carrying top weight following back-to-back wins. Quantum Cloud stayed on well for third after getting held up early straight following a box-seat run. He's racing well without winning. Wukong Jewellery ran on steadily for fourth after getting held up between the 300m and 150m following a rails run from behind midfield. King Miles kept on well for fifth after a wide trip with cover from better than midfield. It was a better effort at his fourth start this term. It Is You made good ground late through the centre for sixth after making his run third last from gate six. It was an encouraging effort at his first Hong Kong start. Punted late All Out For Six was on his tippy toes 100m out after tracking the speed from gate seven. Power Koepp enjoyed a good sleep last night after sitting three wide without cover from gate nine.

Horse No 1 ACE CHAMPION (K379) C Y Ho Near the 550 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by KING MILES which shifted in before being corrected.

ACE CHAMPION then raced keenly between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres when positioned close to SYMBOL OF STRENGTH.

Over the final 100 Metres lay in.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SYMBOL OF STRENGTH (K352) B Avdulla Shortly after the start shifted in and made contact with QUANTUM CLOUD.

Horse No 3 FORTUNE LINK (L311) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that she was given the option to go forward if her mount commenced well.

She said when FORTUNE LINK jumped only fairly she elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner to avoid covering additional ground.

Horse No 4 ALL OUT FOR SIX (L193) K Teetan Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was bumped by QUANTUM CLOUD which was being shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA BLITZ.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 5 POWER KOEPP (E301) L Ferraris Prior to the running of the event Trainer M Newnham confirmed that from a wide barrier he instructed L Ferraris to take up a forward position as he was of the opinion that there was not significant pace engaged in the race.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 6 IT IS YOU (L338) R Kingscote C L Chau was fined the sum of $5,000 for being unable to make the weight.

Permission was given for R Kingscote to be substituted as the rider of IT IS YOU.

Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 7 QUANTUM CLOUD (L221) L Hewitson Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by SYMBOL OF STRENGTH.

Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres made contact with ALL OUT FOR SIX when being shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA BLITZ to obtain clear running.

After obtaining a position to the outside of CALIFORNIA BLITZ, QUANTUM CLOUD (L Hewitson) then shifted out, resulting in ALL OUT FOR SIX being taken out across POWER KOEPP, causing POWER KOEPP to be steadied near the 100 Metres.

L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.

Horse No 8 VIVA PROSPERAR (L374) Y L Chung On jumping made contact with YOUNG ARROW due to both runners shifting ground.
