Favourite Turquoise Velocity tracked the speed outside Rising Force from gate four before hitting the lead 200m out and proving too smart. He deserved that after backto- back seconds at Sha Tin. Specked late Romantic Son stayed on well for second after a rails run from better than midfield. It was a good run first up this term over his favourite Valley 1,200m. Punted late Victor The Winner stayed on well for third after a prominent run. It was another good run carrying more weight following a win. Sight Hermoso rushed home late down the outside to just miss a placing.

Race Seven : (154) - THE KWANGTUNG HANDICAP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 LUCKY WITH YOU (E356) L Ferraris Shifted in shortly after the start and made contact with ROMANTIC SON.

Horse No 3 RISING FORCE (K236) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen was advised to exercise more care for shifting in near the 700 Metres when she was insufficiently clear of TURQUOISE VELOCITY.

Apprentice Yuen stated that she was required to make too much use of the horse in the early stages to cross to lead and as a result her mount was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

Tainer P F Yiu agreed with the explanation provided by Apprentice Yuen.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 TURQUOISE VELOCITY (K533) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 ROMANTIC SON (J537) H Bentley Bumped shortly after the start.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 SON PAK FU (G265) C L Chau Between the 200 Metres and the 50 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to improve between RISING FORCE and ROMANTIC SON.

Over the final 50 Metres then raced tight to the inside of VICTORY SKY which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 8 VICTORY SKY (J540) A Badel A Badel stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Trainer P F Yiu confirmed that the instructions were issued to offset the wide barrier.

Horse No 9 JUMBO TREASURE (K249) K C Leung K C Leung reported that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
