Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (147) - PYRAMID HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 TOP DRAGON (J481) J Orman Near the 700 Metres was steadied when awkwardly positioned to the inside of MIGHTY STEED.
The Stewards inquired into the reasons for TOP DRAGON being severely checked between PRAY FOR JUSTICE (K Teetan) and LUCKY SAM GOR (C L Chau) passing the winning post.
K Teetan was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the winning post he allowed his mount to shift out, contributing to TOP DRAGON being severely checked between PRAY FOR JUSTICE and LUCKY SAM GOR.
In all the circumstances K Teetan was issued with a severe reprimand and advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort than what he did on this occasion to prevent his mounts from shifting ground.
C L Chau was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the winning post he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of TOP DRAGON, contributing to TOP DRAGON being severely checked between LUCKY SAM GOR and PRAY FOR JUSTICE.
In issuing Jockey Chau with a severe reprimand the Stewards were mindful that LUCKY SAM GOR did shift in quickly which provided Jockey Chau with limited opportunity to straighten his mount.
However, the Stewards advised Jockey Chau that he must react with more urgency in similar circumstances to correct his mounts.
Horse No 3 LUCKY SAM GOR (K114) C L Chau Blundered shortly after the start.
C L Chau was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference passing the winning post (see TOP DRAGON).
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SKY VINO (K054) C Y Ho Shortly after the start was bumped by ALL ROUND WINNER.
Lay out making the Home Turn.
C Y Ho stated that he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively from his wide barrier.
Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions and advised he issued these instructions to offset the wide barrier.
Horse No 5 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) K C Leung Passing the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid MIGHTY STEED which was being restrained when endeavouring to obtain a position behind PRAY FOR JUSTICE.
K C Leung stated that his mount failed to run out tonight's distance of 1650 Metres and would be better suited by being dropped back in distance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279) M Chadwick M Chadwick could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.

Horse No 7 THUNDER BLAZE (L188) B Avdulla B Avdulla reported that his instructions were to have the horse ridden in a forward position.
He said from his wide barrier he rode his mount forward in an endeavour to comply with his instructions.
He said when positioned wide leaving the 1400 Metres his mount then commenced to race keenly and therefore he allowed THUNDER BLAZE to continue forward and cross PRAY FOR JUSTICE near the 1300 Metres.
He added after obtaining the lead near the 1300 Metres THUNDER BLAZE continued to race keenly despite his efforts to have it set a more sustainable pace.
He said as a result of THUNER BLAZE racing keenly his mount was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions and concurred with the views of Jockey Avdulla that THUNDER BLAZE was obliged to do too much work to cross to lead from its wide barrier as well as racing too keenly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 SUPREME AGILITY (J267) A Atzeni Began awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
An inquiry into the reasons for SUPREME AGILITY being checked near the 350 Metres was adjourned until the Happy Valley racemeeting on Sunday, 1 November 2026.
Approaching the 100 Metres shifted to the inside of ALL ROUND WINNER to continue into clear running.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when MIGHTY STEED shifted out.

25 October 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting Race 8 (135) GRAND PATCH - Near the 800 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid MR COOL which shifted in slightly and OLDTOWN which shifted out when being steadied to avoid FLASH CURRENT.

Whip Rule Offences - 25 October 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting Race 2 (129) M L Yeung (MANYTHANKS FOREVER) was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 50 Metres.

Punted late Lucky Sam Gor was given a patient ride and came with a well-timed run to just collar the late plunged favourite Pray For Justice for a sixth win from 25 starts. He handled the switch in surface with aplomb after running well in his past two of three on turf this season. Pray For Justice was just denied after leading 300m out following a speedtracking run behind leader Thunder Blaze from gate seven. He has caught the eye in backto- back runs following a switch to the dirt 1,650m. Top Dragon was close in third after a rails run from midfield. It was a good performance carrying top weight at his first start on the surface. Young Achiever was making good ground late for fourth without menacing the first three after making his run second last from gate nine. It was a solid effort first up off a 280-day injury absence. Sky Vino just failed to get up for fourth down the outside after making his run at the rear from gate 11. It was a good run in the circumstances. Mighty Steed came up one paced over the last 100m after a prominent run. Nezha was doing some nice work late through the centre after making his run from near the rear.
