Racing Incident Report
Race One : (128) - LUKFOOK JEWELLERY RHAPSODY ON THE LUO RIVER GODDESSCOLLECTION HANDICAP - Class 4R - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ALMIGHTY WARRIOR (L245) Z Purton Near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid HAPPY PEGASUS.
After improving to the inside of HAPPY PEGASUS (C L Chau) leaving the 500 Metres was then steadied when HAPPY PEGASUS shifted in.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 2 JEDI SPURS (L441) H Y Yuen When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward and lead.
She said having regard to her instructions she rode her mount along in the early stages to ensure JEDI SPURS showed sufficient pace to cross runners to its inside.
She said after obtaining a margin in advance of HAPPY PEGASUS in the early stages she then commenced to restrain her mount when she was satisfied that JEDI SPURS would be able to lead as instructed.
She said as she commenced to restrain her mount approaching the 1000 Metres JEDI SPURS raced keenly and would not respond to her efforts to set a slower pace.
She said making the turn leaving the 900 Metres as she applied more pressure to steady the horse to set a more sustainable pace JEDI SPURS became unbalanced when it got its head up and shifted out and from this point she was unable to control the horse in the lead.
She added that soon after entering the Home Straight JEDI SPURS came under pressure before giving ground noticeably over the final 200 Metres.
Trainer D A Hayes advised the horse had pleased him leading into the race and was of the opinion JEDI SPURS raced too keenly, particularly when ridden along in the early stages to go forward.
He added that he would now place a hood on the horse for its next race start and use the services of a senior rider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
The performance of JEDI SPURS was considered disappointing.
Before being allowed to race again, JEDI SPURS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 AGENT (L444) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by SAINT JOSE PATCH.
Passing the 500 Metres was eased to avoid CHANCHENG SPARKLE which shifted out to improve.
Approaching the winning post made contact with CHANCHENG SPARKLE which shifted out.
Horse No 5 GREEN SUMMIT (L250) J Orman Slow to begin.
Horse No 6 HAPPY PEGASUS (M046) C L Chau Near the 100 Metres was accidentally struck across the head by the whip of E C W Wong, rider of SAINT JOSE PATCH.

Horse No 8 SAINT JOSE PATCH (L509) E C W Wong Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 CHANCHENG SPARKLE (L051) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1000 Metres was momentarily crowded by ALMIGHTY WARRIOR which shifted in when being steadied to avoid HAPPY PEGASUS (C L Chau) which shifted in when not clear.
C L Chau was reprimanded.
Approaching the winning post shifted out and became unbalanced when it made contact with AGENT.
Horse No 4 CELESTIAL ZOUS (L455) A Badel Withdrawn on 24.10.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (irregular heart rhythm).
Before being allowed to race again, CELESTIAL ZOUS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sensationally backed Happy Pegasus had a prominent run behind runaway leader Jedi Spurs and quickened nicely to take control 80m out for a smart winning debut. He has the tools to be an effective performer at 1,400m or beyond. Debutant Saint Jose Patch found one too good after briefly hitting the lead near the 100m. He lived up to some good trial work. Almighty Warrior ran on nicely to grab third after making his run four back on the fence. It was a return to form second up in an easier contest. Debuting Sunny Boss ran on late for fourth after making his run second last from gate 10. It was a decent effort.
