Well fancied Solid Win enjoyed the box-seat run and just got the better of Riding Together for a fifth win from 27 starts. He's always a chance over the Valley 1,650m. Specked late Riding Together ran a cracker after shooting to the lead 250m out following a speed-tracking run from gate eight. The move to a 7lb claimer nearly worked the oracle. Favourite Pope Cody ran on well to finish a close third after a rails run from midfield. He's as honest as the day is long. Punted late Embraces ran on nicely with one wider for fourth without threatening the first three after making his run three from the rear. He's trending the right way after an unlucky sixth first up this term. Lucky Sam Gor was doing some nice work late near the inside for fifth after making his run third last from gate 10. It was another honest effort despite carrying top weight. Forza Toro stayed on without menacing after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. Highland Rahy came up one paced after a wide without cover trip travelling midfield. I Can was a fading last after a one-off trip from midfield.

Horse No 2 POPE CODY (K313) A Badel Jumped only fairly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 THE RED HARE (K312) K C Leung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 SOLID WIN (J225) J Orman When questioned regarding the horse racing in a more forward position as compared to its previous starts J Orman stated that from an inside barrier his mount jumped well.

He said he then elected to allow WIN METHOD to cross and follow that runner without having to apply any pressure to his mount to do so.

Horse No 5 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) H Y Yuen Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) L Hewitson Raced wide and without cover until near the 750 Metres.

L Hewitson stated that the intention was to go forward and attempt to lead.

He said HIGHLAND RAHY jumped only fairly and despite being ridden along in the early stages did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.

Horse No 8 PASS LINE (L384) P N Wong From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 9 EMBRACES (J276) C L Chau When questioned regarding his riding making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight and as to whether there was an opportunity to follow POPE CODY, C L Chau stated that after being positioned to the outside of POPE CODY his intention was to follow I CAN and FORZA TORO into the event.

He said when FORZA TORO did not improve as he had expected this resulted in EMBRACES being held up for clear running until near the 250 Metres.

He added whilst an opportunity presented to follow POPE CODY his instructions were to come to the outside and this was the main reason why he did not elect to follow POPE CODY.

Trainer W K Mo confirmed the instructions were to make a run to the outside in the Home Straight.

Horse No 10 FORZA TORO (K355) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of E C W Wong, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.

Jockey Wong stated that his instructions were to hold a handy position with cover.

He said his mount raced keenly throughout the event and as a result was left racing wide and without cover from the 750 Metres.

Horse No 11 I CAN (H381) C Y Ho C Y Ho reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No WINDLORD (L184) A Atzeni Withdrawn on 19.10.26 by order of the Stewards.

(Promoted as a standby for the race meeting on 19 October 2026 after being entered for consecutive race meetings and trainer elected not to race on 21 October 2026).

Whip Rule Offences - 19 October 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting Race 1 (108) Apprentice P N Wong (FIGHTING MACHINE) was reprimanded in relation to using her whip on a horse which was clearly out of contention.

Race 2 (109) M F Poon (SHOTGUN) was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 150 Metres.
