Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (121) - RACING SPIRIT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 URANUS STAR (K511) H Y Yuen When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward and lead.
She said although URANUS STAR commenced well she was obliged to make use of the horse in the early stages to cross LUCK IS BACK and LUCKY MY WAY.
She said approaching the first turn she then attempted to restrain URANUS STAR after crossing to the rail, however, URANUS STAR commenced to race keenly.
She said although she was aware that URANUS STAR was racing well inside standard time she was unable to set a slower pace due to the manner in which the horse was racing.
She added after entering the Home Straight URANUS STAR gave ground due to racing too keenly.
After considering her explanation the Stewards were satisfied that Apprentice Yuen was riding to instructions in the early stages and that URANUS STAR would not respond to her efforts to set a slower pace during the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 TURIN CHAMPIONS (L024) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 HAPPY SMILE (L202) K C Leung Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with AESTHETICISM.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 TAKE ACTION (J098) B Avdulla On jumping shifted in and made contact with RISING FROM EAST.
Near the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid HAPPY SMILE (K C Leung) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear.

Horse No 6 STRANGE ALERT (K278) C L Chau From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 RISING FROM EAST (L145) R Kingscote Crowded at the start.
Bumped near the 500 Metres.
R Kingscote stated that his mount weakened noticeably in the Home Straight and would appreciate a surface with more give in it.
The performance of RISING FROM EAST, which had finished tailed out on two previous occasions, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, RISING FROM EAST will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in two consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Recap by phillip woo
Turin Champions sat second and five lengths behind the runaway leader Uranus Star at one point, before assuming the lead 250m out and just scrambling in for a second win at his 11th start. It was a winning debut over the Valley 1,650m. Favourite Luck Is Back was closing with every stride to finish a close second settling third from gate two. He's racing well this term. Fortune Star was hitting top stride late to finish a close third after making his run two from the rear. He has honest Valley 1,650m form. Aestheticism came from 20 lengths off the leader at the rear and widest out at the 150m for fourth. He was suited by the pace, but it was still a good effort first up for his new trainer this term. Strange Alert ran on late for fifth after making his run one from the rear. It was a good run at his first start in 367 days following a tendon injury. Lucky My Way came up one paced over the last 100m after a rails run from midfield. Take Action ran on without threatening from behind midfield. Punted late Uranus Star tamely faded after setting slick fractions in front. His 7lb claiming rider lost the battle to control the 1,126lb of horse flesh.
