Race Four : (111) - SUN CHUI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 WATCH LEGEND (L313) M Chadwick M Chadwick reported that he was instructed to take up a midfield position but his mount led the event as it was stepping up in distance.
He said, in his opinion, WATCH LEGEND would be better suited racing at Happy Valley.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CHIU CHOW GOLF (L216) H Bentley Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 4 CALIFORNIA WAVES (K477) B Avdulla Noted to have sustained a small abrasion to the right hind leg after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 COMIC (L486) M F Poon On jumping was bumped by CHIU CHOW GOLF which shifted in.
Horse No 6 MR INVINCIBLE (L448) C L Chau The tongue tie was refitted at the Start.
Horse No 7 NOT USUAL DOUBLE (L464) Z Purton Shortly after the start was bumped by HOT AIR BALLON which shifted in.
When placed under pressure in the Home Straight raced greenly and near the 300 Metres lay in and away from DRAGON GENERATION.
Approaching the 200 Metres shifted out and as a result was steadied to avoid COOGEE BAY.
Over the final 100 Metres lay out which resulted in its rider Z Purton having to stop riding and straighten his mount approaching the finish.
Horse No 8 LESLIE (E471) R Kingscote Slow to begin.
Horse No 10 DRAGON GENERATION (L335) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Near the 250 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of COOGEE BAY to continue into clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 HOT AIR BALLON (K144) J Orman Crowded at the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 LAKESHORE HERO (J288) A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said LAKESHORE HERO raced too keenly during the early and middle stage and was steadied to avoid NOT USUAL DOUBLE near the 700 Metres.
He added that as a result LAKESHORE HERO was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 STAR SATYR (K231) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.

Star Satyr travelled one off behind midfield and quickened nicely to take control 30m out for a second win at his 23 starts. He was third up after hitting the line well in his first two starts from wide draws this term. Hot Air Ballon kept on nicely for second after leading 150m out following a wide trip without cover travelling worse than midfield from gate 11. He's a winner waiting to happen. Favourite California Waves stayed on well for third after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's naturally improved with each start this term. Mr Invincible succumbed late for fourth after briefly leading near the 200m.
