Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (59) - THE NATIONAL DAY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 2 CRIMSON FLASH (K173) A Atzeni From the 600 Metres raced in restricted room to the outside of BEAUTY WAVES and near the 400 Metres was steadied momentarily to avoid BEAUTY WAVES (C L Chau).
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care when he permitted his mount to shift out.
Horse No 3 BEAUTY WAVES (H294) C L Chau C L Chau could offer no excuse for the horse's performance today.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 COLOURFUL KING (K227) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) H Bentley Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 BOTTOMUPTOGETHER (J316) A Badel A Badel explained that his instructions were with some flexibility depending on how his mount jumped from an awkward draw.
He said given the horse had drawn barrier 1 on the straight course he opted to gain some cover behind TOMODACHI KOKOROE which unfortunately did not take him into the race and near the 400 Metres then shifted in which allowed the horse to finish the race off strongly.
Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued and expressed satisfaction with the ride as he was of the opinion these tactics that were adopted are more suitable to the horse's winning chances given the race being run over the shorter distance of 1000 Metres.
Horse No 7 MAGIC CONTROL (J333) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Colourful King setted handy and one off on the stands side before hitting the front 100m out and edging clear to improve his record to five wins from 17 starts. He loves the straight 1,000m. Well backed Magic Control just held on for second after dictating the run from gate three. He was able to back up a good third on opening day. Punted late Bottomuptogether came from last on the far side to make it close for second. He's an honest sprinter. Raging Blizzard stayed on nicely for fourth after making his run second last from gate five. It was a good effort carrying top weight.
