Racing Incident Report
Race One : (46) - TROPICBIRD HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ROBOT KNIGHT (H464) P N Wong Apprentice P N Wong stated that after obtaining a forward position in the early stages her mount failed to respond to her riding and raced "flat" A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SO MY FOLKS (K456) J Orman Making the turn near the 600 Metres MR GOOD VIBES shifted out, resulting in SO MY FOLKS improving to the inside of MR GOOD VIBES.
A short distance later MR GOOD VIBES shifted in to resume its position, resulting in SO MY FOLKS having to be steadied.
SO MY FOLKS then had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 400 Metres.
Horse No 3 DAILY TROPHY (H283) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 HAPPY ACTION (K399) A Atzeni Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres lay in and had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted out.
Again near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of SO MY FOLKS.
Horse No 6 ONLY U (J037) Z Purton Jumped only fairly, shifted out and was steadied to avoid HAPPY ACTION.
Horse No 8 WAVE GARDEN (K209) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly.
When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer C W Chang stated that the horse was advantaged by being down in grade and also appreciate having its first raced start on the All Weather surface.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 GIMME FIVE (J099) H Y Yuen Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 VON BAER (K198) M F Poon When caught wide in the early stages was steadied to obtain a position with cover behind WAVE GARDEN.
Leaving the 600 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid WAVE GARDEN.
M F Poon stated that he was instructed to obtain cover on the horse which resulted in VON BAER settling back in the field.
He said after obtaining a position with cover VON BAER found it difficult to make up ground from that position, particularly when the pace of the race quickened from the 500 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 HANDSOME BLOND (K241) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
In the early stages got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover.

Specked late Wave Garden was patiently ridden but quickened nicely with one wider out to just mow down Gimme Five for a first win at his 15th start. A stable change and switch to all-weather track worked the oracle. Gimme Five grudgingly gave way after dictating the run from gate one under a 10lb claimer. He is a well-rated runner on a past dirt success. Punted late Daily Trophy ran on steadily for third after settling worse than midfield on the fence from gate two. He's always a chance on this surface. Only U made good ground late near the inside for fourth from midfield after a tardy start.
