Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (44) - MOUNT BUTLER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) K C Leung Leaving the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid THRIVING BROTHERS.
STRAIGHT TO GLORY continued to race keenly in the middle stages.
Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between THRIVING BROTHERS and STORMING DRAGON.
As a result STRAIGHT TO GLORY was shifted to the inside of STORMING DRAGON to obtain clear running.
Horse No 3 SKY CAP (K125) C Y Ho C Y Ho stated that in the early stages he was obliged to make use of his mount to obtain a position to the outside of HARMONY N BLESSED and as a result SKY CAP was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 STAR RISE (K516) J Orman Making the turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid HARMONY N BLESSED (L Ferraris) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear.
L Ferraris was advised to exercise more care.
J Orman stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position from barrier 1.
He said STAR RISE, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, did not appreciate racing on the tight circuit.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 PEGAS (L075) C L Chau C L Chau reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 7 STORMING DRAGON (J237) B Avdulla Leaving the 300 Metres was eased to avoid DANICA'S CHOICE which shifted in to secure clear running.
Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when improving close to LEADING AGILITY.
Horse No 8 DANICA'S CHOICE (L096) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 KING LOTUS (K186) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 10 MEOWTH (J487) H Y Yuen From the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by LEADING AGILITY.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 LEADING AGILITY (K553) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 OUTGATE (H113) Y L Chung Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.

Firming favourite Danica's Choice sat midfield and after hitting the lead near the inside 150m out drew clear for a second win and first in Class Three, plus a second and fifth following a gear change to blinkers and switch to the Valley 1,200m. Leading Agility stayed on nicely for second after a one-out, one-back run. He is up to Class Three after winning two of his past three Class Four starts. Thriving Brothers ran on nicely through the centre for third after travelling worse than midfield one off the fence. It was a solid effort after a last start win over a mile trip. Pegas flashed late down the outside for fourth after making his run second last from gate 11. He was able to back up a near win at his final start over the Valley 1,000m. King Lotus made ground late near the inside for fifth travelling last after a slow start. Storming Dragon ran on late through the centre to make it close for fifth following a rails run from behind midfield. Brown lamped Meowth kept on evenly after a handy run wide without cover from gate 12. Star Rise was a non-factor after travelling in the box seat.
