Racing Incident Report
Race One : (827) - THE PURVES QUAICH (PLATE) - Class GRIFFIN - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 JEDI SPURS (L441) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 ALMIGHTY WARRIOR (L245) E Brown Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 CHANCHENG SPARKLE (L051) C L Chau Shifted in at the start and made contact with COOGEE BAY.
Near the 50 Metres the whip of C L Chau was knocked from his grasp by the whip of Y L Chung, rider of QUANTUM WUKONG.
Horse No 4 COOGEE BAY (L307) K Teetan Bumped at the start.
Approaching the 700 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room between GOLDEN GUNNERS and CHANCHENG SPARKLE.
Horse No 5 DRAGON GENERATION (L335) L Hewitson Slow to begin and shortly after the start was steadied to avoid GOLDEN GUNNERS.
Approaching the 700 Metres and again near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid COOGEE BAY.
Approaching the 200 Metres shifted in when positioned close to EVER WEALTH, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to correct his mount.
After the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of EVER WEALTH when EVER WEALTH shifted out slightly.
Horse No 7 KYOTO SPRING (L190) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with QUANTUM WUKONG.
Horse No 8 EVER WEALTH (L317) A Atzeni Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 200 Metres shifted in, resulting in its rider A Atzeni having to stop riding and straighten.
A Atzeni stated that his mount was not suited by the "Good to Yielding" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 QUANTUM WUKONG (L393) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping.
Lay out making the Home Turn and near the 450 Metres shifted out when improving to the outside of EVER WEALTH.
Horse No 10 ULTRA BOLT (L387) M Chadwick Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Almighty Warrior had the box-seat run and after claiming the lead 200m out, he raced away for a maiden win at his third start. He lived up to a good trial after catching the eye last start. Red hot favourite Jedi Spurs just held on for second after dictating the run as expected from gate one. The rise in weight and distance was perhaps too much to handle at just his second start. Quantum Wukong just failed to get up for second after a one-out, one-back run. It was another honest performance. Chancheng Sparkle ran on late for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's run with merit in each of his three starts. Dragon Generation got going late for fifth without threatening the top four.
