Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Family Fortune came off the fence one off at the 200m and rallied nicely to reel in The Way We Win in the concluding stages from midfield for a third Valley 1,650m win from four rides under Joao Moreira this season. He should find things harder next time out in Class Four. The Way We Win gave a cheeky sight for second after setting a quick pace from gate six. It was his best run from nine starts after an early season second over 1,400m. Punted late Telecom Power ran on nicely down the outside for third after making his run third last from gate 10. He was able to build on a pleasing fourth last start. Setanta made ground late near the inside to just snatch fourth after biding his time three from the rear. It was another honest effort over the Valley 1,650m. Wah May Wai Wai whacked on one paced after getting every chance following a prominent run on the fence. He's a 28-run local maiden for a reason. Manythanks Forever gradually faded after working forward three wide to eventually sit outside the leader from gate 12. It wasn't a bad run but he is more effective over 1,400m at Sha Tin.

He said after settling back in a midfield position following HAPPY BUDDIES he elected to make a forward move from the 700 Metres although he was aware that the early and middle stages of the event had been run inside of standard time.

He said his decision to go forward at that point was due to the fact that PRINCE ALEX is one-paced and that he was of the opinion HAPPY BUDDIES and SMART TRIO, which were racing in advance of PRINCE ALEX, would not provide him with the opportunity to improve into the event.

He added that he was also influenced by the fact that PRINCE ALEX had won previously when being ridden in a similar manner.
