Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (750) - WONG NAI CHUNG GAP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 THE HEIR (H459) J Moreira Bumped shortly after the start.
For a short distance approaching the 200 Metres raced tight to the inside of WINNING NOW which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BRIGHT DAY (J530) K C Leung Between the 250 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving between HEROIC MASTER and THE PERFECT MATCH.
Horse No 3 HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 MEOWTH (J487) L Ferraris On jumping was bumped by NEBRASKAN which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SPIRITED STEED (L278) C L Chau On jumping became unbalanced when it was bumped by GLORIOUS RYDER.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 NEBRASKAN (J304) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 8 THE PERFECT MATCH (J253) L Hewitson H Bowman was replaced by L Hewitson (see General).
Horse No 9 PHOENIX LIGHT (G192) M F Poon From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 GLORIOUS RYDER (K290) P N Wong On jumping shifted out and became unbalanced when it made contact with SPIRITED STEED.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 WINNING NOW (K532) Y L Chung Shifted in shortly after the start and made contact with THE HEIR.
Y L Chung stated that he elected to take a trailing position behind NEBRASKAN with the early stages being run slightly inside of standard time.
He added that in the Home Straight WINNING NOW finished the race off in a one-paced manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 HEROIC MASTER (G394) A Badel Shortly after the start was steadied to avoid MEOWTH which shifted out after making contact with NEBRASKAN.

Post-time favourite The Heir settled midfield on the rails and took the short route home to take control 50m out for a third win and back-to-back over the Valley 1,200m from 14 starts this term. He will now have to raise his game going forward in Class Three. Meowth found one too good after leading 200m out following a one-off trip travelling third from gate five. He rarely produces a bad run over this course. Vigor Eye stayed on for third without threatening the top two after a prominent run on the fence. He was able to brush off a flat effort last start. The Perfect Match made good ground late near the outside for fourth after a one-off trip settling behind midfield from gate 11. He's always a chance over the Valley 1,200m. Old-timer Phoenix Light produced a better run to get up for fifth after making his run second last from gate 12. Nebraskan was on his tippy toes 100m out after working hard to clear Winning Now 900m out for the lead from gate 11. He couldn't offset an 8lb rise in weight following a second consecutive win. Brown-lamped Bright Day just held his ground after a one-off trip from midfield. He struggled up in grade.
