A “new joint arrangement” on trade was reached after a new round of negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Chinese state media. Xi is making his first state visit to the US in more than a decade and met Trump for the first time at the White House. The leaders reportedly also discussed the war in the Middle East, AI and Taiwan in their closed-door meeting at the Oval Office on Thursday. In speeches, both leaders spoke positively about their friendship and stressed the need for cooperation between the two countries.
