Also known as CZ, he has a background in software engineering and high-frequency trading systems, and previously served as the chief technology officer of OKCoin. He resigned as the CEO of Binance in November 2023 after a four-month jail term for pleading guilty to money laundering in the US. He now focuses on developing the BNB Chain, philanthropy through Giggle Academy and investing in blockchain, artificial intelligence and biotech.
