Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD)
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) is a Hong Kong-based governmental body dedicated to conserving the natural environment and safeguarding ecological integrity. Its primary mission includes facilitating sustainable agricultural and fisheries production, protecting public health, and managing country and marine parks. The AFCD is responsible for biodiversity conservation, controlling endangered species trade, and providing technical support to local farmers and fishermen. It notably manages Hong Kong’s extensive country parks and developed the Hong Kong Wetland Park, playing a crucial role in the region’s environmental and food security.
