Paris Saint-Germain beat Liverpool in a penalty shoot-out to join Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday.
PSG beat Liverpool 1-0 on the night to level the aggregate score at 1-1. Ousmane Dembele scored 12 minutes into the second-leg match after a blunder by the Liverpool defence.
Gianluigi Donnarumma then saved two penalties, and Dembele had the final say as PSG won 4-1 to set up a clash with either Aston Villa or Club Brugge.
Barcelona cruised past Benfica with Raphinha scoring twice and Lamine Yamal once in a 3-1 win at home. Up next are either Borussia Dortmund or Lille in the last eight
Harry Kane made history as Bayern Munich eased past German rivals Bayer Leverkusen with a 2-0 win that made it 5-0 on aggregate.

Kane’s goal in the 52nd minute was his 10th in Europe this season, more than any other English player has scored in a single campaign in the competition’s history.
Inter moved on past Feyenoord with a 2-1 victory at San Siro to advance 4-1 on aggregate, and they will play Bayern for a place in the semi-finals.
An ace up his sleeve
Golden Ace was the shock winner in a dramatic Champion Hurdle, the feature race of the first day of the Cheltenham Festival on Tuesday, after both the previous winners Constitution Hill and State Man fell.
Winning trainer Jeremy Scott had wanted Golden Ace to run in the Mare’s Hurdle but her owner Ian Gosden insisted on the biggest hurdling prize of all and was proved right.
Constitution Hill had been odds on to regain the crown he missed out on defending last year, but came to grief with three hurdles remaining, the first time in 11 races he has failed to win.
State Man then looked set to retain his title as he approached the final hurdle but he hit the dirt too, jockey Paul Townend pounding the turf with his fist in frustration. Golden Ace’s jockey Lorcan Williams was left to just guide his mount home.
“I am lost for words,” Williams said. “You dream of these moments as a kid watching on TV.”
Woods injured, again
Tiger Woods had surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon on Tuesday, which will keep him out of the Masters and leaves in question whether he can play in any other major championship this year.
Woods posted the development on his social media accounts without saying how long he expected to be out or any other details except that the surgery had gone.
“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Woods said.
He said he had a minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon that the doctor said went smoothly. Such surgeries involve smaller incisions, and the recovery time is quicker. But most recoveries take at least a month before someone can even put weight on their foot.
Piastri contract extension
Oscar Piastri has signed a multi-year extension with McLaren ahead of this weekend’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
The 23-year-old Australian driver was already under contract until 2026, but has now secured his long-term future with McLaren, who won last year’s constructors’ championship.
Piastri finished fourth overall after wins in Hungary and Azerbaijan, and is set to battle with teammate Lando Norris for the title this season.
“We’re all excited to see what we can do in the years to come as we continue to fight for world championships together,” Zak Brown, the McLaren CEO, said.
