Hong Kong’s new openings, from the East Kowloon Cultural Centre to a new pasta bar

From the minds behind Honky Tonks Tavern and Mendel’s, the city’s latest pasta bar can be found in the form of Twist, with its made-for-Instagram interiors and hearty dishes such as bone marrow macaroni, a twist on Kau Kee’s famous curry brisket, and squid ink spaghetti with dried shrimp roe from Yau Kee. Beyond pasta, desserts such as the white chocolate and soy milk panna cotta pay homage to the local pudding tofu fa.

Formerly known as Hue, the Woolly Pig group’s venue at the Hong Kong Museum of Art reopens as MoA Dining, pairing harbour views with modern Mediterranean fare. The Tsim Sha Tsui hotspot nods to local flavours with dishes such as a Hong Kong-style bouillabaisse alongside suckling pig and paella. The bright, art-filled room (look for works by Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Rocco Ritchie) also features an artisanal bread trolley.
