Difficulty: Challenger (Level 2)
Every year, students feel anxious on the first day of school. Take a deep breath and remember that it is another opportunity for growth and to learn about yourself.
How do you plan to challenge yourself this year? To help you transition into the new term, some of Young Post’s summer interns have shared their advice for finding your unique groove.

As we begin the new school year, I want to highlight my unique ability: organisation. While this skill is often emphasised in schools, it does not come naturally to everyone.
When I started middle school, I struggled with a large number of papers scattered everywhere – some were here, others there, and many were simply missing.
I discovered that when I knew exactly where everything was, I felt more at ease and experienced less mental stress. Therefore, I encourage you to organise all your papers neatly in designated folders. This way, when you receive additional papers to take home, you will feel much more confident in your learning environment.

Treat this new year as a chance for personal exploration. Keep a weekly “passion journal”, join niche school clubs and volunteer for challenging projects.
For younger students just starting their school journey, the key lesson is that mistakes are stepping stones. Each error in maths or writing represents real brain growth.
It is also important to share ideas with classmates to improve your work and strengthen friendships. On the first day, a simple “Hi!” can make a big difference and help you connect with more friends on campus.

The best way to discover your unique abilities is to keep an open mind and be willing to try new things. I have explored a variety of activities – from sports like basketball, ping-pong and golf to musical endeavours such as dancing, singing and playing the guitar.
Over time, I discovered my talent for singing and playing instruments, realising that I have a natural gift for music. It was my curiosity and willingness to take risks that helped me uncover this skill.
So, I encourage you to seize every chance to explore the world and step into the unknown – you never know what you might learn about yourself.
