A one-armed man in Malaysia has captivated social media across Asia with his perseverance working as a food delivery rider despite his disability.
Ahmad Nabil Rosli, 26, from Terengganu, eastern Malaysia, had his left arm amputated after a road accident in May 2017, according to a report by the local news outlet Sinar Harian.
Nosli attracted attention online because of a video clip released in November, which showed him being stopped by a traffic police officer at a checkpoint while he was riding his motorcycle.

“Did your hand get hurt, brother?” the officer is heard asking him after noticing his missing left arm.
During the accident eight years ago, Nosli’s motorcycle was dragged into the middle of the road and caught fire.
He suffered severe injuries and fell into a coma. His heartbeat even stopped for half an hour, his father told him.
“The doctors did everything they could to save me. It was a very critical moment,” Nosli recalled.

Although the accident cost him a limb, Nosli still regarded it a “second chance to survive” and decided to live well.
He also gained strength from the support and encouragement his parents and siblings gave him, said Nosli.
He took up the food delivery job several years ago and began sharing his daily routines on social media in 2021.
Despite losing one arm, Nosli usually completes more than 30 deliveries every day by working from morning till night.

“Sometimes I can even break my own record of 50 bookings a day,” Nosli was quoted as saying.
He said many of his customers were kind and understanding, with some sending him cheering messages.
Nosli no longer wears a prosthetic arm when delivering food because frequent use causes pain in his shoulder nerves.
“I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire more people to deal with challenges in a positive way,” he said.
He said he is working hard to save enough money to marry a “special someone in Singapore”.

He did not reveal any more information about his partner except that they plan to get married by December next year.
After his story was reported by a radio station, a listener moved by him offered to sponsor the cost of his wedding.
The story attracted a wave of compliments on social media.
“I believe God will treat anyone who never gives up well. An individual like Nosli deserves our respect!” said one internet user.
But another person took a different view: “I do not suggest he do this job. It is too dangerous to ride a motorcycle on a highway with only one arm. Why not take an indoor job?”
