A moving services manager has admitted to repeatedly molesting the 11-year-old daughter of his girlfriend in their Hong Kong home, and possessing more than 200 videos and photos he took during the seven assaults.
Deputy District Judge Ivy Chui Yee-mei on Friday condemned the “despicable and sickening” acts of the defendant, who was 35 years older than the victim at the time of the offences.
The 47-year-old defendant admitted to molesting the girl seven times between August 2023 and March 2024. During the assaults, he used his phone to take photos and recorded videos using a home security camera.
Upon arrest, police retrieved a total of 223 videos and photos from the defendant’s electronic devices. A nude picture of the girl was also found in his wallet.
According to the summary of facts, the girl’s biological father died two years after her birth. In 2019, her mother and the defendant started a relationship, and he later moved into their flat in Yuen Long.
Over the seven-month period between 2023 and 2024, he molested the girl by touching her genitals, forcibly kissed her and asked her to perform oral sex on him.
These assaults were recorded by the defendant and saved on his devices. He renamed the files “intimate sex album” and labelled the girl as his “lover”.
He pleaded guilty to 18 charges – seven counts of indecent assault and 11 of possession of child pornography.
Judge Chui said the defendant had violated the child’s trust, calling his behaviour “despicable and sickening”.
“The defendant took advantage of the young victim and committed indecent assault,” she said.
“He filmed the occasions … This aggravated the pain to the victim and made each charge even more serious.”


Chui added that the amount of obscene material possessed by the defendant compounded the seriousness of his crime.
Officers discovered the case on April 5, 2024, when they arrived at the flat to handle a report of a quarrel between the defendant and his girlfriend’s son.
When they searched the defendant, they found in his wallet a nude picture of a girl, who was later confirmed to be the victim.
Chui noted that the defendant had two daughters with his ex-wife, whom he divorced in 2012.
For sentencing purposes, the judge asked the prosecution to obtain a psychologist’s report on the defendant. She also ordered a background report to be prepared.
The sentencing hearing will be held on August 31.
