Hong Kong will roll out its first cross-industry exhibition for high-end products ranging from haute jewellery to supercars, yachts and private jets in November, as part of efforts to attract big spenders and cement the city as a global conference and event capital.
The South China Morning Post learned on Wednesday that the inaugural Festival of Connoisseurs will receive some of the HK$100 million (US$12.8 million) set aside in Hong Kong’s 2026-27 budget to attract large-scale international exhibitions to the city.
Event organiser Informa Markets will use AsiaWorld-Expo, located near Hong Kong International Airport, as its primary venue for the event running from November 4 to 6.
Other elements of the exhibition will be held in various locations across Hong Kong in an unprecedented “city-as-your-showroom” format.
A source said the exhibition was the first of many such projects to involve the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector.
“The government is in discussions over other projects, which will elevate Hong Kong’s offerings and experiences on MICE events and, of course, will in turn boost high-end tourism,” the insider said.
“The festival will be spread across several days, cater to different appetites of high-net-worth individuals and maximise interactions with them in iconic venues.”
In its latest budget, the government allocated funds to help cement the city’s position as a global MICE hub.
Informa, one of the world’s largest commercial trade exhibition organisers, is set to reveal more details about its event on Thursday afternoon.
The inaugural festival will feature supercars, yachts, haute jewellery and luxury timepieces, premium travel, arts pieces, upmarket properties, private planes, fine dining and rare spirits, as well as top-end wellness services.
Informa and the Tourism Board are teaming up to turn the Festival of Connoisseurs into a flagship event to be held annually until 2028, with plans to progressively expand the exhibition’s scale and global reach.

Next year’s event is set to be held in the summer.
The festival is expected to bring Hong Kong high-profile global events such as the Monaco Yacht Show, the Palm Beach International Boat Show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Jewellery Arabia and the Top Marques Monaco supercar show.
The Tourism Board earlier said major international conventions had helped boost business travel in July, contributing to the 3 per cent year-on-year increase in visitor arrival levels to about 4.5 million that month.
Government figures also showed that the city greeted 2.51 million MICE visitors in 2025, a 7 per cent increase from the previous year. Among that figure, nearly 57 per cent stayed overnight and generated HK$10.7 billion in total spending.
