Little has been heard from playboy property tycoon Cecil Chao Sze-tsung since he offered a HK$500 million dowry last month to any man able to convince his daughter Gigi Chao to divorce her wife and marry her suitor.
Applications quickly began flooding in from around the world, prompting Gigi Chao’s plea for an end to the harassment.
Now the story, first reported by the South China Morning Post on September 26, is back in the news with a Hollywood twist.
According to entertainment website Deadline.com, English actor and screenwriter Sacha Baron Cohen has now signed a deal with Paramount Pictures to bring the story to the big screen in a comedy film tentatively titled The Lesbian.
The website said that Baron Cohen is likely to play the role of Cecil Chao and produce The Lesbian, although a writer for the film has yet to be announced.
