Video footage taken moments before a catastrophic mudslide hit a border post in Tibet this week shows how one police officer stationed there tried to guide civilians to safety.
The clip, which shows the officer trying to direct people away from the police station at Gyirong Port, went viral online in China over the weekend.
State broadcaster CCTV said the officer, whom it named as Huang Peng, also rushed into a nearby tourist service centre to tell those inside to evacuate.
The 34-year-old, who had served at the border station for 13 years, was on duty when the disaster struck on Wednesday and there has been no word on whether he survived.

The landslide was triggered by the collapse of a glacier about 7km (4.3 miles) from the border crossing.
The debris was travelling at an estimated speed of 50 metres (164 feet) per second when it struck the crossing, giving people virtually no time to react.
Satellite images indicate that all the buildings at Gyirong Port were obliterated by the mudslide and its social media accounts have gone silent.
Internet users have flooded previous posts with hundreds of messages praying for the safety of the border team.
“Please post an update to let us know you’re safe,” one comment read.


The disaster knocked out power and internet and phone signals across the affected area, although telecoms services were restored to one village about 3km from the border on Thursday, according to state news agency Xinhua.
Search and rescue efforts continued on both sides of the border on Saturday. Seven people have been confirmed dead on the Chinese side, with 544 missing.
At least 675 people have been confirmed dead in Nepal as of Saturday, while over 2,400 remain missing.
