What: Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro
How much: Estimated US$4.8 million
Why: For the ultimate hypercar collector, how about a hypercar so hyper that it can’t even be driven on the road? This is the Valkyrie AMR Pro, the new track-only offering from the British marque – but none of that should be a problem for members of the 0.1 percent club.
For any Marvel fans reading, this is how I interpret the Valkyrie siblings: if the original Aston Martin Valkyrie – unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018 – is Thor’s Mjolnir, then the Valkyrie AMR Pro is Stormbreaker. An add on: the operative word here is “breaker” for, indeed, the AMR Pro breaks all the rules – in both racing regulations and for use on the road.
Is this the world’s most extreme hypercar?
Aston Martin chief executive officer Tobias Moers says, “Valkyrie AMR Pro is a project beyond compare, a true ‘no rules’ track-only version. The Valkyrie AMR Pro is testament to Aston Martin’s commitment to pure performance. Nothing else looks like it, nothing else sounds like it, and I am absolutely certain nothing else will drive like it.”

The Aston Martin Valkyrie’s sports car design was the basis of the new more radical AMR Pro model. Conceived to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the new Hypercar class, and designed in partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT), the new track-only AMR Pro gives the Valkyrie chassis an extra 380mm in length to the wheelbase and an additional 96mm width in track at the front.
There’s also the new aggressive aerodynamic package which delivers twice the amount of downforce than the Valkyrie road car – helping the AMR Pro achieve lateral acceleration of more than 3G.

And something the revheads will appreciate: the Valkyrie AMR Pro has ditched the hybrid system to achieve a lighter weight point, now relying on a modified version of the Cosworth-built, 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine that revs to 11,000rpm.

More details on the AMR Pro’s performance have yet to be revealed, but Aston Martin has teased us with some stats – namely, a target lap time around the 8.5-mile (13.6km) Le Mans circuit of 3 minutes and 20 seconds. For comparison, the record holder for the fastest lap in the history of the race was in 2017, by former Formula One driver Kamui Kobayashi in a Toyota TS050 Hybrid at 3 minutes, 14 seconds and 791 milliseconds.
The AMR Pro will be produced in a limited run of 40 cars, with the first deliveries expected to start in the last quarter of 2021.
