In April, the internet was rife with rumours that Dawson’s Creek star Joshua Jackson might be getting back with his ex, Katie Holmes – but just a few months later, the actor has another potential flame in his life.
Jackson and an attractive younger woman were papped during an outing in New York last weekend. Although neither have officially commented on their relationship, the two appeared close, holding hands and goofing around while strolling through the Big Apple.

The news comes after Jackson and Holmes – who once dated for a year in the 1990s – posed for an Instagram photo together in April to promote their new romance film, Happy Hours. People magazine noticed Holmes “liking” comments on the photo enthusing that the pair would make a good IRL couple.
Then, just days before the New York outing, Jackson attended the Tribeca Film Festival with Holmes, holding her hand on the red carpet and gushing about his “precious” relationship with her during an interview.
But just who is the woman he was most recently spotted with? Olivia Burgess is a fashion model and dancer who’s worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Nike, Lululemon and Jean Paul Gaultier, making her an attention-grabbing figure in her own right.

Who are Olivia Burgess’ parents?

Burgess was born in Paris in January 1989. She spent her early years in France before moving to Washington at age four with her mother Gloria Burgess, who was a pioneering African-American model in her time. Her father remained in Paris, and Olivia often travelled back to visit him, according to an interview she gave to online culture magazine Gainsayer.
Later, she formally studied dance, enrolling in the Fordham University and the Ailey School’s BFA programme in New York.
Which fashion brands has Olivia Burgess worked with?

Standing at 1.75 metres (5ft 9 inches), Burgess then signed with Wilhelmina Models. She has since walked runways for Jean Paul Gaultier, Chromat and Agent Provocateur, and appeared in campaigns for Nike, Gap, Lululemon and Bloomingdale’s.
She has also collaborated with Kanye West’s Yeezy brand, calling it “the greatest collaboration to date” on Instagram.
She’s worked with Beyoncé as a backup dancer

Aside from her modelling career, Burgess has continued to pursue dance professionally. She performed as a backup dancer for Beyoncé at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. “My mind was totally blown,” she told Gainsayer of the career-defining moment.
She later collaborated with FKA Twigs, and most recently shared the stage with singer Ravyn Lenae during Paris Fashion Week 2025.
“With dance you’re always trying to make everything, even the most difficult steps, look effortless. To do this you have to be powerful and in control to mask the fact that ‘No! Dancing is not easy!’ I think that I’ve also been able to bring this strength and elegance into my modelling,” she shared with Gainsayer.
What does Olivia Burgess do when she’s not working?

On Instagram, Burgess documents her progress in yoga, posting advanced poses alongside behind-the-scenes dance moments.
She also appears to enjoy travelling – sharing snaps taken in Bali and Côte d’Azur – and to have a love for animals. “Animal sanctuary of my dreams with all my favorite humans,” she captioned a carousel from last November, showing her interacting with horses, goats, dogs and chickens.
Who have Joshua Jackson and Olivia Burgess dated?

Jackson has had high-profile past romances with actresses Jodie Turner-Smith, who he was married to for four years before she filed for divorce in October 2023, and Lupita Nyong’o.
Burgess, meanwhile, has kept her romantic history largely private, with little public record of previous partners.
