The Venice Film Festival was a family affair for the Afflecks. Ben Affleck’s brother Casey Affleck and the latter’s son, Indiana, made a rare red carpet appearance at the festival for the premiere of their new film Company on September 8.
Directed by Casey and starring his mini-me son as well as Nick Nolte, Ben Mendelsohn and Emily Alyn Lind, the film is a mystery thriller following a “love triangle between a husband and wife and the mysterious grifter”, according to IMDb. Casey and Indiana were joined on the red carpet by the Gone Girl star.

Casey’s younger son Atticus reportedly also has a role in the film, but he was absent from the premiere in Venice. During a press conference, Casey spoke about working with his sons and called it one of his “best professional experiences”.
“I think they grew up around it and had some interest in it and a sort of innate understanding of what it was,” Casey said. “Like I did, my dad worked in the theatre for many years. And so it’s passed down, I suppose, which is a really nice thing. And they were willing to be a part of this.”

He has famous parents

Indiana Affleck was born on May 31, 2004, in Los Angeles to Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix, Joaquin Phoenix’s younger sister.
Casey and Summer met in 1995 and married in June 2006. They became parents for the second time with their son, Atticus, in January 2008.
Indiana’s parents split in 2015 and later finalised their divorce in 2017. The former couple have co-parented their two sons since the divorce.
Following the Afflecks into the film industry

Despite his famous last name and parents, Indiana and Atticus grew up largely out of the spotlight. In 2022, Casey told lifestyle magazine Haute Living that Indiana had left Los Angeles to attend university in New York.
“Despite all the travelling I’ve done between the coasts, NYC has never felt as far away as it does now. My son leaving is the only thing on my mind,” the actor said.
Indiana made his acting debut in 2016 in the short film Drama. He has since appeared in the 2022 film What Comes Around, starring his mother, and is in his father’s forthcoming film Company.
Per his LinkedIn profile, Indiana also works as a special project coordinator at his uncle’s production company Artists Equity, which was co-founded with Matt Damon.
