Meet Maria Sten, the Reacher star leading spin-off series Neagley
The former Miss Denmark Universe almost missed out on her role in the Alan Ritchson-led series, but now she stars in a spin-off alongside Greyston Holt
Reacher’s Season 4 finale aired on September 16, the same day Neagley premiered. The spin-off is centred on Maria Sten’s Reacher character, former US Army Master Sergeant Frances Neagley, who takes on Chicago as a private investigator. Per Men’s Journal, the show, which also stars Greyston Holt, jumped to third place on Prime Video’s most-watched list on the day of its release.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Reacher showrunner Nick Santora, who co-created Neagley with Nicholas Wootton, gushed over Sten being “great all through Reacher”, before adding, “Now giving her the torch to carry as the lead of the show, she’s also been great.” Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels, also called Sten the “surprise star” of the show.
