American football coach Lane Kiffin has been making headlines in the past weeks as his team, the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers, await a verdict on whether they will be expelled from the collegiate Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Leaders from schools in the conference are planning to meet on Thursday to discuss expelling LSU amid a dispute over the team’s push to add players who spent time on NFL teams.
On Tuesday, the SEC amended a lawsuit filed last week to request a temporary restraining order so the school can’t interfere with a meeting where a “potential termination” of its membership will be discussed. The conference would need a two-thirds majority to approve LSU’s removal, according to the filing.
