Stella Lefty is one of the biggest overnight sensations of 2026. Her breakout country-pop hit “Boston” peaked at number 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and her debut album Long Way Home is currently No 4 on the Top Country Albums chart. Unfortunately, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter’s burgeoning success has done little to keep controversy at bay.
First, listeners noticed a resemblance between “Boston” and singer Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season”, but Lefty claimed in an interview with Vanity Fair that she “wasn’t thinking about Noah Kahan” when she wrote the song. She ultimately credited Kahan as a co-writer on the track.
