Anna Faris recently revealed that her 14-year-old son, Jack, asked her to “accept Jesus Christ”.
During an appearance on the Dear Chelsea podcast on August 20, Faris opened up about discussing religion with her son, whom she co-parents with ex-husband Chris Pratt.
“He is religious,” Faris told the host Chelsea Handler. The Scary Movie actress explained that she didn’t grow up religious but told her son she would do “anything for him, including this, but it’s going to take a whole lot of long conversations”.

The 49-year-old went on to praise her son for his ability to handle complex conversations regarding faith. Her ex-husband, Pratt, is a devout Christian and has frequently spoken about his faith publicly.
“[Jack]’s impressive, actually. Because I try to challenge him,” Faris said in the podcast. She would ask her son to consider whether being able to be pro-life was in fact a luxury. “Or I’ll say, ‘What do you think of this mega pastor that’s kind of a grifter?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, mega pastors are the worst.’ So it’s like, ‘Okay, he’s getting there.’”
“I’m appreciative that he’s examining religion the way he is in terms of … starting to recognise hypocrisy, and I’m appreciative that we can have these long conversations,” she continued.

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt married in 2009 and separated in 2017. They welcomed their only child together, Jack, in 2012.
Both actors have since remarried. Pratt wed Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine in 2019 and shares three children with her, while Faris married cinematographer Michael Barrett in July 2021.
The exes co-parent Jack amicably and reportedly agreed to live within 8km of each other for their son’s benefit, according to People.
Jack Pratt was born prematurely

Jack Pratt, named after Faris’ father, was born several weeks prematurely and weighed just around 1.6kg at birth. While Jack is now healthy, the weeks following his birth were exceptionally challenging for the parents.
“The paediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled,” Faris wrote in her 2017 memoir Unqualified. “I was in complete shock … So Chris and I did what we could, which was hold hands and hope and face it together.”

Jack spent a month in the neonatal intensive care unit and underwent several surgeries alongside physiotherapy. Aside from minor vision and leg muscle issues, he has grown into a thriving teenager.
Faris and Pratt are proud parents

Jack has occasionally joined his parents on the red carpet. In 2017, he and Faris accompanied Pratt when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “I love you,” Pratt said in his speech. “You’ve given me so much. You gave me the greatest star in the galaxy in my little boy; I love him and I love you.”
In August 2024, Pratt shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to his firstborn on Instagram: “Happy Birthday to my wonderful son Jack. I thank God every day for you sweet boy. You are so smart, hilarious, kind, thoughtful, trustworthy and tough. I love you so much kiddo.”
Faris also praised her son in an interview with People, saying: “He’s always had such a solid anchor. I don’t know where, being a kid in Hollywood, he got that. I don’t know how he got so down-to-earth, but I’m really grateful.”
