Modern Family star Sofía Vergara marked her 54th birthday off the Italian island of Capri with a yacht getaway and festive dinner. While the actress was surrounded by friends and family, one guest who attracted particular attention was Vergara’s boyfriend, Douglas Chabbott, who accompanied her during the lavish two-day celebration.
The Colombian actress later posed in a red bikini in her birthday photo, thanking fans for “all the love” on her special day.
But who is Douglas Chabbott, who at 39, is more than 14 years Vergara’s junior?
How long have Sofía Vergara and Douglas Chabbott been dating?

The Griselda actress was first photographed with her much younger beau in December 2024, leaving a New York restaurant alongside Sydney Sweeney and her then-fiancé, Jonathan Davino.
The actress confirmed their relationship in April 2025, posting a selfie with Chabbott on her Facebook, which she captioned with a heartfelt “Luv u”. Later that year, Vergara shared an Instagram selfie with Chabbott, captioning it, “Te am<3” to mean “I love you” in Spanish.
Where else did Vergara and Chabbott appear together?

Vergara and Douglas were spotted on a romantic seaside walk during the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025. The couple left their hotel together and were later joined by Vergara’s son Manolo. Later that day, Vergara uploaded an Instagram Story with Chabbott, tagging him in the photo.
Later that year, the pair went to an Oasis concert in California together, with the actress posting a video of herself and Chabbott singing in the VIP lounge.
Vergara frequently shares photos of herself and Chabbott enjoying casual outings and events together, such as this year’s Super Bowl in California.
He’s a low-profile entrepreneur with high-profile friends

A graduate of Babson College in the US state of Massachusetts, Chabbott is reportedly a vice-president at fine jewellery company Dasan Group, a business his father David Chabbott has helmed as CEO since 1972. Douglas’ brother Julien also serves at the company as president.
Chabbott’s private Instagram profile only has about 2,400 followers, but among them are such famous names as Tom Holland, Vanessa Hudgens, Anitta and Lauren Sánchez.
Despite keeping a low public profile, Douglas runs in Hollywood circles, and has been spotted hanging out with A-listers Dakota Johnson and Orlando Bloom.
