Apple TV’s hit comedy-drama series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel of the same name, has been renewed for season two. With a star-studded cast that includes Elle Fanning, Nick Offerman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman and Thaddea Graham, it is one of the top 10 most-watched shows on Apple TV at the time of writing.

Fans will also get more of Graham in Lena Headey’s upcoming audio drama series Intimacy, which stars Headey alongside Hannah Waddingham, Maisie Williams and others. It launches on BBC Sounds on July 22.
So, who is Thaddea Graham?
What is Thaddea Graham’s background?

Graham was born on March 29, 1997, in Changsha, China. When she was only three days old, her biological parents left her at a building’s doorstep, per the Daily Mail. She grew up in County Down in Northern Ireland after being adopted by a couple from Belfast when she was one year old.
“I don’t think I was abandoned,” the actress asserted in an interview with The Times, adding, “I feel my birth parents left me in a place I would be found. And somebody did.” Speaking to The Independent, she called this a “second chance” at life.
Graham was one of the first international Chinese adoptees in Ireland, but at school, she was “just one of the other kids”. As a child, she frequently visited China with her adoptive parents.
What else does Thaddea Graham do?

Graham owes her creative career to her adoptive parents. “My father used to make up bedtime stories, so storytelling has been very much ingrained in my upbringing,” the 29-year-old shared with The 3rd Act, a film publication on Substack.
Per The Standard, the actress took dance lessons at a young age and developed a passion for music, which led to her mastering several instruments. “I use music as a way to kind of process life,” Graham told 1883 Magazine, a London-based culture publication.

She had originally planned to study law, but her mother encouraged her to attend drama school. She ultimately went to ArtsEd in Chiswick, West London.
Thaddea Graham has said she doesn’t want to be famous

Graham has often spoken about the downsides of being a star. She has called acting a “very lonely” profession, and once declared, “I don’t want to be famous with my acting or music. The idea of celebrity really scares me. For me, it’s about connecting to people and telling stories and representation.”
Nevertheless, Graham is very popular for her roles in shows like Doctor Who, The Irregulars, Bad Sisters and Sex Education. She was also in the 2025 films Jay Kelly starring George Clooney, and After the Hunt starring Julia Roberts. Going forward, she is interested in venturing into musicals and animation, per The Independent.
