Paul Anthony Kelly hails from “middle of nowhere” Port McNicoll, in Ontario, Canada, as he told Interview magazine, and is based in Portland, Oregon. He briefly lived in Toronto, where he modelled for brands like Bonobos and Brooks Brothers. He also took on commercials and was signed to US talent agency Innovative Artists. “It’s great work but I felt pretty pigeonholed,” he said about being a fashion model.
Kelly began pursuing acting after moving to New York, though he later relocated to Southern California. He performed with The Group Rep theatre company in productions like Can’t Live Without ’Em and You Can’t Take It with You while auditioning for screen roles for about a decade.
