The Summer I Turned Pretty – Prime Video’s hit show following the love life of Isabel “Belly” Conklin, played by Lola Tung – is back for a third and final run.
One of the characters in her love triangle, Conrad Fisher, is played by Christopher Briney, who has been getting everyone’s attention lately.

While filming the last season of the show, the 27-year-old heartthrob fully immersed himself in Fisher’s world to deliver a stand-out performance. Co-stars Lola Tung and Gavin Casalegno even described his on-set intensity as an impressive case of method acting during an interview with People magazine.

What else has Christopher Briney been in?

Briney has been busy. In June, he joined Ben Stiller’s daughter Ella Stiller and Chiara Aurelia on stage to star in Julia Randall’s off-Broadway production Dilaria, making his professional theatre debut, according to Teen Vogue.
He starred in his first film, Dalíland, sharing the screen with Hollywood veteran Ben Kingsley in 2022. Two years later, he took on the role of the endearing Aaron Samuels in the musical remake of Mean Girls – a role he initially turned down, only to reconsider after learning that he would not have to sing, he told GQ.
He is dating his former roommate

Roommates can be unpredictable, but for Briney, the experience led to finding love. The on-screen heartthrob’s real-life girlfriend is Isabel Machado – an actress, singer and dancer. The couple has been together for over four years, having first met at university and living together as friends, according to People magazine.
Briney and Machado made their red carpet debut in June 2022, coinciding with their first anniversary. During a conversation with Interview Magazine, Briney recalled one of Machado’s first memories of him: watching him try to impress the crowd at a bar with his magic card tricks, “trying to flex on people, which is absolutely absurd” he joked.
He didn’t want to act until high school

Originally from Connecticut, Briney moved to New York to study film and television performance at Pace University. But despite growing up in a theatre-loving household – his parents, both actors, met at an opera workshop – he hadn’t initially been interested in the industry.
That changed during his first year of high school, when a compulsory acting class unexpectedly sparked his love for performing, according to InStyle. Now a rising star already beloved by many, his goal is not fame, but working with his friends, who he says are all talented actors. “My friends are all working, auditioning actors. I’ve just been luckier,” he told Natural Diamonds.
And that ambition includes directing. Briney shared his interest in producing films with Interview Magazine. “And I love acting,” he said, “but I think the reason I fell in love with acting is because I love the process of making films. I’ve directed a lot of shorts, and I’d love to keep pursuing that.”
He used to work at Trader Joe’s

Looking back at his life before the spotlight, Briney has fond memories of working at Trader Joe’s during university. “At Trader Joe’s, you spend two hours at a register, and then you’re stocking, and then you’re unboxing,” he shared during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark. “It keeps you moving, and I think they made an effort to hire personable people. At least it felt that way. Everyone seemed interested in each other.”
His stint at Staples, though, appears to have been a little less eventful. “You’re standing, waiting for someone to buy a printer, and then you upsell,” he said.
