The couple made their relationship red carpet official at the American Music Awards in May, after meeting through a mutual friend, according to People magazine. Scott, the founder of her eponymous brand, has an estimated net worth of US$900 million, placing her at No 41 on Forbes’ current list of America’s richest self-made women. Her engagement comes amid tensions between Brown and his ex-wife, actress-model and stuntwoman Kelly Yazdi, as they navigate a legal battle following their divorce early last year. In 2002, she founded her eponymous brand while on leave from work and pregnant with her first child. Started with just US$500, Kendra Scott has grown into a billion-dollar lifestyle brand with almost 150 stores across the US. The label’s pieces have been worn by top-tier celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Camila Mendes and Gwyneth Paltrow. Last year, Scott launched Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott, offering a range of Western fashions in collaboration with country music star Lainey Wilson. Earlier this month, Scott collaborated with music icon Dolly Parton, releasing 10 designs inspired by the beloved song “I Will Always Love You” – the second time the pair has worked together.
