The world knows Lionel Messi for his goals, his mind-boggling skills, his mile-long list of honours and achievements, and his staggering wealth – he’s pulling in US$20 million a year playing for Inter Miami, according to The Guardian. He once earned up to US$165 million during his Barcelona days, and he is edging ever closer to billionaire status with a net worth of around US$850 million, per Celebrity Net Worth.

But off the pitch – no doubt aided by all those millions in his accounts – the 38-year-old is also a serious collector of ultra-lavish timepieces. As the very definition of a GOAT, he also has the world’s most coveted watchmakers vying for his wrist – he’s been an ambassador for the likes of Audemars Piguet and, since 2019, Jacob & Co.
All that is to say that Messi has been a major player in the luxury watch world for years, and if 2025 is anything to go by, his collection is only getting more substantial. Here are seven luxury watches the football icon has worn so far this year.
Patek Philippe Cubitus

As fellow watch bro Jay-Z might say – new watch alert! A Patek Philippe Cubitus watch was seen on the Argentine footballer’s wrist at an Inter Miami match in August. He wore the rose gold Cubitus with a brown dial (ref. 7128/1R-001) showing that, despite this watch’s somewhat mixed reception, it’s got at least one famous fan. He’s also got a ref. 5821/1A of the model in stainless steel with a green dial, as seen on Instagram.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph

Former AP ambassador Messi still keeps the brand close. In March, he sported a 43mm black ceramic Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Tourbillon Chronograph – one of only 50 in existence – complete with a skeletonised dial, dual chronograph counters, and a tourbillon at six o’clock. Also spotted on the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jay-Z and Novak Djokovic, it’s sporty on the (rubber) strap, but total over-the-top extravagance on the wrist.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept “Companion” Tourbillon

Another very special Royal Oak made an appearance in May, when Messi stepped out wearing the Royal Oak Concept “Companion” Tourbillon, a limited edition collab with artist Kaws. It puts Kaws’ signature “Companion” – a sort of sad Mickey Mouse-like character – front and centre in the design, with its skull-and-crossbones face pushed up against the sapphire crystal glass, as though peering out of the watch, and a tourbillon spinning from its chest. To keep the artwork unobstructed, the watch swaps traditional hands for a peripheral time display with rotating, roller-guided hour and minute wheels – a neat blend of art and haute horlogerie.
Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref. 126000 in pink

Not every watch Messi’s worn to matches this year has been hot off the production line. Take this Rolex Oyster Perpetual (ref. 126000) with a candy-pink dial – discontinued earlier in 2025, and now firmly in collector territory. Compared to some of the other heavy hitters on this list, it’s a relatively understated flex, but still a sharp one – it nods to Inter Miami’s team colours and taps into the current pink watch moment.
“Barbie” Rolex Daytona

Messi kept the pink theme going in July with the so-called “Barbie” Rolex Daytona – a louder, flashier cousin to his candy-pink Oyster Perpetual. Released in 2024 during the Barbie craze and limited to just 10 pieces (Mark Wahlberg has one too), this off-catalogue model is reserved for only the elitist of elite clients.

Crafted in 18-karat yellow gold, it turns the pink dial up to full volume with pink everything: sapphire-set bezel, matching hour markers, leather strap and a diamond-adorned case.

A long-time friend of Jacob & Co., Messi’s no stranger to the brand’s over-the-top, technically dazzling creations – he even has his own namesake signature model. In April, he was on hand at a Jacob & Co. boutique to unveil the FC Barcelona Epic-X Tourbillon, marking his former club’s 125th anniversary. Limited to just 125 pieces, it features an 18-karat rose gold case and a skeletonised dial accented with FC Barcelona logo details.
“Flamingo Blue” Tudor Black Bay Chrono

In June, Messi went blue with the swish Tudor Black Bay Chrono in “Flamingo Blue” – a colourful, frankly very fun luxury sports watch that channels Miami’s easy, breezy coastal palette. The aquamarine dial feels oceanic and beachy, and plays nicely against the watch’s sporty design: a 41mm stainless steel case, black counters, tachymetric bezel and chronograph pushers that give it serious tool-watch credentials.
