Jon Hamm has earned a reputation for playing renegade characters – the kind of guys who seem perfectly put together and in control, yet are always just one misstep away from unravelling. Case in point: his latest hit, the Apple TV+ series Your Friends and Neighbors. Hamm stars as Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a hedge fund manager who, after losing his job and torpedoing his career, turns to stealing from his wealthy friends and neighbours to keep up his lavish lifestyle. His loot of choice? High-priced, status symbol items – including some seriously coveted watches, like a Patek Philippe Nautilus with an ice-blue dial, which boasts a resale value of about US$169,000. Life imitates art, as they say, and Hamm certainly seems to be mimicking Coop’s passion for timepieces. Off-screen, Hamm has been spotted wearing a few steal-worthy timepieces of his own at red carpet events and media appearances. Vacheron Constantin Historique 222 The actor sparked serious buzz among watch lovers earlier this year when he showed up at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party wearing a yellow-gold Vacheron Constantin 222, which GQ referred to as the “big, bold bad boy of high-end sports watches”. One of the most sought-after reissues in recent memory, it oozes the vintage charm of the original 222, which was introduced in 1977 to celebrate Vacheron’s 222nd anniversary. After it was discontinued in the mid-80s, it became a rare collector’s grail. The modern version, relaunched in 2022 as the Historiques 222, pays faithful tribute to the original, right down to the 37mm case and integrated bracelet – though it now houses a modern in-house movement. With its throwback styling and quietly confident presence, it’s no surprise the piece looks right at home on the wrist of the man who played super-slick ad exec Don Draper in Mad Men. Bell & Ross 123 Jumping Hour The Baby Driver star also got in on the jumping hour trend at the 2023 GQ Men of the Year party. For the uninitiated, a jumping hour watch displays the hour in a small window on the dial, with the numeral “jumping” to the next hour every 60 minutes instead of being tracked by a sweeping hour hand. Over the show’s seven-season run, which spanned the entire decade from 1960 to 1970, Draper was spotted wearing everything from various Jaeger-LeCoultres to a Rolex Explorer. But it was the Omega Seamaster that really elevated his game. Hamm wore the same vintage 1966 Omega Seamaster DeVille for his 2013 Rolling Stone cover shoot. Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso It was reportedly on the set of Mad Men that Hamm first developed a taste for square-faced watches. According to Gay Perello, the show’s prop master, she convinced him to give the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso a shot over his preference for a round-faced timepiece. That new-found appreciation seems to have followed him off-screen. Clearly a friend of the brand, Hamm joined then-CEO Jérôme Lambert to co-host a Jaeger-LeCoultre celebration in 2010. He also wore a Reverso for an Esquire Italia cover shoot in 2019. Rolex Daytona Chronograph Of course, a classic guy like Hamm was bound to have a Rolex or two in rotation. Back in 2016, while promoting Keeping Up With the Joneses, he showed off a sleek stainless steel and black dial Daytona Chronograph – proof that he’s got more than a few heavy hitters in his collection. Apple Watch Sometimes, you just want a smartwatch that makes life a little more seamless. Hamm has long professed his love for Apple Watches, and he’s been spotted wearing the newest drops everywhere from the golf course to candid interviews with media. He even talked about his Apple Watch fandom back in 2019, when he had just picked up a Series 4 and proudly called himself an “early adopter”. Panerai Radiomir And then there’s Panerai – a rugged sports watch that action icons like Sylvester Stallone helped catapult into pop culture. Over the years, Panerai has become synonymous with big-screen strongmen, with names like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger all known to wear them. Hamm was often spotted wearing his Panerai Luminor in his early career, and it’s clearly still a favourite brand for him – he even wore a Panerai Radiomir for a Hollywood Reporter feature in 2024.
