Daniel Ricciardo’s high-octane watch collection, from team-issued Tag Heuers and Tudors, to exclusive Patek Philippes, Rolexes and Audemars Piguets

As one of Formula One’s hottest stars, Daniel Ricciardo is known for his daring moves on the racing track – and his infectious humour off it. But the Australian racing driver – who’s often referred to as “the Honey Badger” – is also known for never shying away from a bold (questionable?) fashion statement, whether that’s a cowboy hat or crop top. Still, the ever-smiley driver is a little more discerning in his day-to-day dressing, and like most F1 pilots, has built quite a watch collection. With luxury watchmakers often sponsoring racing teams – or even the drivers themselves – Ricciardo has managed to snag high-end, ultra-rare luxury watches, and eagle-eyed fans often spot these on his wrist. Given the shared values of precision and performance between high-end watch brands and motorsports, it’s not really surprising that Ricciardo has aligned himself so well with some of the world’s top luxury watch brands and F1 sponsors, including Richard Mille, Tag Heuer and Tudor. But his love of luxury timepieces doesn’t stop there. He’s also been spotted wearing extravagant models from Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Rolex. Over the course of his illustrious career – which includes eight Grand Prix victories – Ricciardo’s luxury watch collection has grown substantially, and is easily worth several millions of dollars today. Here’s a look inside Danny Ric’s high-performance watch collection. 1. Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Special Edition Ricciardo has long been a part of the Red Bull Racing family, having got his start in F1 at their junior team, Toro Rosso, in 2012, and graduated to the senior Red Bull team in 2014. It was during his time at Red Bull that Ricciardo was introduced to Tag Heuer, one of the team’s sponsors. In his last year, he often wore this special edition smartwatch. It was created in 2018 in collaboration between Tag Heuer and the then-Aston Martin Red Bull Racing Formula One team. It’s a prized limited edition piece that has appreciated in value. 2. Tag Heuer Blue Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon After several stints with other teams and a year away from the track, Ricciardo rejoined the Red Bull family midway through the 2023 season, this time with their second F1 team, Visa Cash App RB F1 Team (formerly Scuderia AlphaTauri, and Toro Rosso before that). To commemorate the occasion, he received a hero’s welcome along with a 60th anniversary Tag Heuer Blue Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon. Originally debuting in 1963, this watch was designed by Jack Heuer himself for motorsports enthusiasts and professionals, and is named after the iconic Carrera Panamericana race. 3. Richard Mille 50-03 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ultralight McLaren F1 When Ricciardo joined the McLaren team in 2021, Richard Mille, one of the team’s sponsors, became his watch brand of choice. His collection expanded to include this ultra-rare RM 50-03 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ultralight McLaren F1, which he’s been snapped flashing in photos. Produced in collaboration with luxury automotive manufacturer McLaren, the hi-tech timepiece is constructed from graphene, a revolutionary nano-material, weighing just 38 grams, including the strap – one of the lightest mechanical chronographs. This high-performance watch, costing around US$1.2 million, is undoubtedly one of the most expensive pieces in Ricciardo’s collection. 4. Richard Mille 67-02 McLaren View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lux & Co (@luxandco) Another Richard Mille watch that Ricciardo was spotted wearing trackside, this time at the Italian Grand Prix in 2022, was the RM 67-02. This model is reportedly a favourite among several F1 drivers due to its super-lightweight design, weighing in at a feather-light 32 grams – Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz Jr and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso have been spotted with this timepiece on their wrists, too. For the event, Ricciardo swapped the original bright orange strap – McLaren’s classic livery colour – for a striking forest green version, adding a sleek contrast to the orange details on the case. This watch is available only to McLaren racers, making it a priceless timepiece. 5. Patek Philippe Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar 5271P-001 The Honey Badger doesn’t just rely on team sponsors to give him wrist candy, though. The flashy young Australian also has a penchant for more elegant timepieces, and he’s happy to splash out on them himself. In 2021, he appeared in the final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show wearing this show-stopping platinum-and-diamond Patek Philippe Grand Complications 5271P-001 . This jewellery version of the brand’s chronograph with a perpetual calendar reference features 58 baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel and lugs, 22 diamonds set in the foldover clasp, and an additional diamond as the 12 o’clock marker. It’s valued at upwards of US$400,000. 6. Patek Philippe Nautilus “Ruby” 5711/112P-010 Showing his knowledge of the hottest watches on the market, Danny Ric also owns several Patek Philippe Nautiluses, which are notoriously difficult to buy brand new. However, this ruby-studded piece stands apart from the rest. It’s an off-catalogue timepiece – Patek Philippe produces only a few each year – featuring a platinum case adorned with 44 baguette-cut rubies on its bezel and dial markers, against a striking black gradient dial. This kind of watch is only offered to the top one per cent of Patek Philippe’s elite clientele, highlighting just how much business the driver has probably given them over the years. It’s worth a staggering US$850,000. 7. Audemars Piguet Yellow Gold Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra Thin Ricciardo’s girlfriend Heidi Berger – daughter of legendary Austrian F1 driver Gerhard Berger – posted this adorable photo of the pair in Venice to Instagram last spring. Take a closer look and you’ll notice that Ricciardo is wearing a stunning Royal Oak with a smoked gold-toned “Petite Tapisserie” dial. It’s another highly coveted watch, which could easily fetch around US$250,000. 8. Rolex Day-Date in Rose Gold Naturally, a watch lover like Ricciardo would have a Rolex in his collection. For an interview with GQ Sports in 2019, he wore a sophisticated Rolex Day-Date in rose gold, featuring a stately olive green dial and worth around US$50,000. It is often referred to as the “Presidential” watch because several former US presidents have worn it. 9. Tudor Master Chronometer Black Bay Ceramic Ricciardo’s latest horological obsession is the Tudor Master Chronometer Black Bay Ceramic. Tudor recently announced their sponsorship of Ricciardo’s current F1 team, Visa Cash App RB team – or “VCARB” – and they were kind enough to design this beautiful watch specifically for team members. Ricciardo caused a stir when he was photographed wearing this previously unknown watch, featuring a striking “Visa blue” dial in a matt black case. Though this is a rumoured to be a team-exclusive watch and extraordinarily rare, Tudor recently announced that they will sell a special edition of the model for watch lovers and Ricciardo fans alike.
