Chinese astrology is based on the following three theories and principles – a combination of yin and yang, the five elements of fire, earth, metal, water and wood, and the 12 animals of the zodiac animals.
Earth Rabbit Month: March 5-April 3
Elements of the month: yin earth and wood
Essence: compassion, healing, negotiation
The second solar month of 2025 is influenced by the energy of the Earth Rabbit, Ji Mao. This astrological feng shui month follows the solar system and therefore runs from March 5 to April 3.
With the wood penetrating the earth, this is a time of year for strong growth and for potentially lasting progress to be made. We should all exercise mutual respect to achieve a win-win situation, which will bring about a positive start to the year and establish greater stability for all. This year we benefit from waiting patiently, like the Snake, for the right time to strike and attain goals. Decisions made should be considered for the long-term benefits for all, not short-term gains. We benefit from thinking twice before acting.

The element of wood and the energy of spring are dynamic; this is the energy behind a tiny shoot with the strength to push through the earth, yet a shoot we could snap off with our fingers. This is the will to be, our motivation to actualise and to realise the wood energy within ourselves.
In Chinese culture, the Rabbit is associated with healing. This comes from the ancient folk tale that the “man in the moon” is not a man but a rabbit stirring a vat of herbs to make the elixir of life, symbolising immortality. This is why the Rabbit is regarded as special in terms of longevity and the Jade Rabbit, in particular, is seen as having healing powers.

Those born in the Rabbit year tend to be quite polite and cautious. They are also never ones to shy away from their responsibilities. The incompatibility between the Rabbit and the Rooster: There will always be major differences with the nemesis of the Rabbit, especially in communication. The rooster comes over as loud and boastful; the rabbit can appear quite dull in comparison, unimpressed by the ruffling of the roosters’ feathers.
