At this year’s Baftas, Golden Globes and Oscars, many of those nominated for awards wore Chanel looks drawn from Blazy’s first 4 collections for the house

Since he began his role as creative director at Chanel, Matthieu Blazy has already shown four collections for the legacy house – collections that have fans of the brand, old and new, scrambling to get their hands on Blazy’s pieces, which hit stores early this month.

The appeal of Blazy’s Chanel was especially evident this award season when Teyana Taylor attended the Chanel and Charles Finch pre-Oscar party on March 14 wearing a show-stopping multicoloured fur jacket from the brand’s fall/winter 2026 collection, which debuted at Paris Fashion Week hardly a week before.

At the Oscars, custom Chanel pieces adorned the likes of Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley who swept up one of the most coveted awards in the film industry, the Oscar for best actress. Channelling old Hollywood glamour, the actress – who also wore Chanel to the 2026 Baftas in February – wore a light pink chiffon gown with a red satin stole that paid homage to Grace Kelly’s 1956 Academy Awards gown.

Nicole Kidman opted for a powder pink silk ensemble featuring a bustier and a peplum waist adorned with beige pink feature appliqués that continued down to her skirt. The custom design was inspired by Look 45 in Chanel’s spring 2026 couture collection.
