The first NCAA golfer to score an endorsement deal with sports apparel brand Adidas, Rose Zhang is turning heads and is slated to become one of the most successful female players only a year after she turned pro.
The 21-year-old California native showed promise as a golfer from a young age and began training under her swing coach at when she was 11. Before entering Stanford University, she already excelled at the sport, ranking at the top of her amateur age group at high school.

Following an illustrious college career, she kicked off her professional career with an impressive start. She won her first professional tournament during the Mizuho Americas Open nine days after kicking off her professional career.
At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, she played as part of Team USA alongside teammates Nelly Korda and Lilia Vu, placing eighth overall.
Here’s a look at how golf’s rising star is shattering records both on and off the course.
She’s being compared to Tiger Woods

Ahead of turning pro, Zhang showed promise as one to watch in the golfing world. A natural talent, she was called “the Mozart of golf, the Van Gogh of golf” by Stanford head coach Anne Walker.
A top golfer during her amateur career, Zhang set the record for consecutive weeks at the top of the World Amateur Golf Rankings in April 2023, eventually spending 141 weeks at the No 1 spot.
When she took home an NCAA Division I Women’s Championship win in May 2023, Zhang became the first woman to win the title twice. The win was also her 12th at Stanford, putting her ahead of fellow Cardinal golfer Tiger Woods.
Her college career was cut short, however, when at the end of 2023, Zhang left Stanford to begin her professional career.

With two pro career wins to date, Zhang raked in US$1.1 million in official earnings last year, per the LPGA. Her career earnings to date stand at US$2.5 million.

If Zhang’s affiliations with various brands are any indication though, she’s earning significantly more off the course. Alongside her high-profile partnership with Adidas – which made her the first college golfer to score a commercial endorsement deal with the brand – Zhang’s name is also tied to several other major brands. She’s an ambassador for Beats by Dr Dre, Delta Air Lines and Callaway.
She is also a Testimonee (ambassador) of luxury watch brand Rolex, joining the ranks of other high-profile golfers such as Lydia Ko, and greats like Jack Nicklaus.

Zhang shared her training routine with fans in a four-part workout series focusing on mobility and core engagement. The Strength, Core, and Yoga for Golfers routine aims to help golfers up their game.
The golfer partnered with trainer Kyle Ardill to create 10-minute workout sessions to strengthen the upper body for a more powerful golf swing. The collaboration puts Zhang in the company of stars like Rihanna, who also collaborated with Apple Fitness+, Apple’s guided workout and playlist subscription service.
Rose Zhang loves an LBD

Zhang is always seen in her Adidas ensemble when swinging and putting on the golf course. In more formal settings, however, she often defaults to the reliable little black dress.

At the 2023 Rolex LPGA Awards, she opted for a short black dress with sheer sleeves and a pair of black platform heels. She consistently relies on the look; she was spotted wearing a similar silhouette but with lace sleeves at an event in November 2019.

When she’s not playing golf, Zhang is often seen in athleisure wear. She shows a preference on her social media for relaxed silhouettes and oversized outerwear.
