As seen in pics shared on social media, the romcom queen went shopping with her adopted daughter on August 28 while in New York City.

The Sleepless in Seattle star, 62, wore a white T-shirt with black trousers and sunglasses, while her 20-year-old daughter opted for a patterned blouse with jeans. They were spotted going to a bookstore in the area, according to JustJared.
Here’s what we know about Meg Ryan’s adopted daughter.
Meg Ryan adopted Daisy True Ryan from China

As per Hello!, Meg adopted Daisy True from an orphanage in China in 2006, when she was still a baby. Daisy True was born in 2004, so she would have been around two years old or younger at the time of her adoption, notes People. The outlet also notes that she was raised in Los Angeles and New York City.
“I always thought I’d do it,” the What Happens Next star told the Los Angeles Times in 2008. “It’s such a deliberate act, this adoption, as opposed to getting pregnant sometimes. You have to be very, very awake.”
She has a famous brother

While Daisy True has chosen to remain low-key, her older brother, Jack Quaid, is a well-known actor. The 32-year-old son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid has starred in films like The Hunger Games and Oppenheimer and TV shows including The Boys.

Jack also lent his voice to Peter Parker in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse animation.
She was described as a “ridiculously happy person”

Although Meg doesn’t share too much about her private family life, she has opened up about her daughter’s personality in her younger years. In an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, she revealed that she had initially named her daughter Charlotte True, but decided to go with Daisy True in the end as it suited her better. “It took me a while to get to know her,” she said at the time. “[Daisy]’s a really ridiculously happy person, and it was the happiest name I could think of.”
She didn’t have a phone until she was 15
Meg admitted in an interview with People that she is a little strict when it comes to raising her children, saying Daisy True “didn’t have a phone until she was 15”.
She added, “She really is somebody who has a lot of different interests and she’s a great reader and she, at least, has a memory of the phone not being everything.”
She watches romcoms with her mum

In a 2019 interview with The New York Times Magazine, Meg said that she and her daughter embarked on movie marathons. “I’m showing my daughter all kinds of romantic comedies,” she told the publication. “We did a Frank Capra thing over Christmas: It Happened One Night and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.”

It seems Daisy True may have an interest in fashion too. In 2019, a then-15-year-old Daisy True joined her mum at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture show at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, shared People.
She’s at university
According to People, Daisy True is currently enrolled at Smith College in Massachusetts. “I visit probably more than I should,” Meg told the media outlet last year. “I have two of the greatest kids,” she also said in the interview. “They’re just a blast. It is just a true joy.”
Who is Meg Ryan’s partner now?

It appears Meg Ryan is currently single after ending her engagement with musician John Mellencamp in 2019, per Glamour.
The When Harry Met Sally … actress has still been putting herself out there though, telling Glamour at the end of last year that she was dating again and that it was “just as ridiculous as ever”. She nevertheless conceded that she’d perhaps improved her dating skills since her worst date of all time …
“I went on a date in college where he took me on a motorcycle ride all over northern Connecticut and Massachusetts. It was great. We ended up having dinner, and when we rode back to my dorm room, I was like, ‘I had the greatest time, Phil.’ And his name was something like Bob. I never heard from him again. I had it all wrong, but it was fun.”
