Already firmly on the radar of basketball fans, the 29-year-old California native caught the attention of the wider internet this month after arriving for her first game of the season on May 14 in a black leather micro vest from Alexander Wang with nothing underneath. In low-slung black leather trousers and carrying a black patent leather crescent handbag, the point guard paired the authoritative ensemble with plenty of silver jewellery. A cross pendant nearly as long as her torso swung against her bare cleavage as she walked, and she also donned silver bracelets, earrings and rings. To complete the look, Plum opted for a sleek updo and retro cat-eye sunglasses – also in black. Kelsey Plum comes from a sporty family The WNBA star inherited plenty of athletic genes from her parents. While at university, her mother Katie played volleyball at national level, representing the University of California, Davis. Per Essentially Sports, Katie is still involved in volleyball and works as an athletic trainer. Kelsey’s father Jim was also an athlete at university, and excelled in two sports, playing American football and baseball at San Diego State. Kelsey has two older sisters, both of whom followed in their mother’s volleyball-playing footsteps. Oldest sister Kaitlyn played at UC Davis, just like her mum, while middle sister Lauren made it into USA Volleyball’s Junior National Team and played for the University of Oregon. The youngest of the bunch, brother Daniel, played American football at university, like his dad, at his mum’s alma mater, UC Davis. Kelsey originally excelled in volleyball too, but when it came time for high school, she chose to go her own way, opting for basketball. Kelsey Plum had a stellar college basketball career Plum attended the University of Washington from 2013 to 2017 and made a big impression on the court during her time there. According to the Seattle Times, she eventually became the all-time leading scorer for either gender in the history of the Pac-12, a major NCAA Division I conference. In the wake of the news that Plum and Darren Waller – an American football player with the New York Giants – had filed for divorce the previous month, one user decided to weigh in: “Biggest fumble of Darren Waller’s career was off the field,” they wrote in the comments.
