It’s official – Blackpink’s Jisoo is taken!
The news sent fans of the K-pop songstress into a frenzy when it broke earlier this week. So who’s the lucky guy?

It’s none other than K-drama actor Ahn Bo-hyun, the stars’ talent agencies have confirmed. Local media reports also stated that the two were spotted out and about in Seoul together recently.
News of Jisoo, 28, and Ahn, 35, being together is a big deal. Not only because of the excitement about Jisoo’s happiness in finding love, but also because it breaks barriers in the K-pop industry, which is notoriously conservative when it comes to relationships.

According to CNN, it’s very rare for agencies to announce romantic relationships of their stars, especially considering that many idols are under strict contracts that forbid them from dating. We couldn’t be happier for the Blackpink superstar!

Ahn Bo-hyun works out – and it shows

Ahn is a sight for sore eyes – and we’d expect nothing less for his Dior rep girlfriend. Standing tall at around 186cm, Ahn isn’t afraid to pose shirtless for fans on his Instagram account.

Considering the amount of hard work he’s put into his physique, we don’t blame him! In an interview with W Korea, however, he says there are plenty of tall actors out there – and his goal is to stand out.
“I exercised to make my body stronger and to perform action scenes without a body double, in order for me to stand out among actors. I took up boxing when I was in school, so I mainly portrayed athletes or played roles that have action scenes,” he shared in the interview. According to Soompi, he eventually won a gold medal at a national competition for boxing.
He’s an actor

Ahn has starred in a string of K-drama hits including Itaewon Class (2020), Kairos (2020) and See You in My 19th Life (2023).
According to his interview with W Korea, he has a passion for what he does. “I want to work for a long time. I love it the most when I’m working. I have to live repaying the people whom I owe,” he shared.

He’s starred in series alongside fellow rising stars like Park Seo-joon, Kim Da-mi and Hye-Sun Shin.

Ahn also revealed that he felt he was “never an actor to pick and choose projects”. So while it was advised that he refrain from playing one villain after another, he decided against it and chose to do Kairos after Itaewon Class “because I wanted to work with someone who wants me”.
He vlogs on YouTube

To really get to know Ahn away from the characters he plays on screen, head to his YouTube channel – where he vlogs about intimate moments in his life.
Launched around four years ago, his channel boasts over 250,000 subscribers with 37 videos of him enjoying day-to-day activities, from a trip to Jeju to camping trips with his bestie Sehun from Exo.

His last video, sadly, was posted two years ago. Considering his busy schedule (and new GF!), it’s hardly surprising that he may not have time to record, edit and post vids any more – but fans can binge the existing content as there’s plenty to go through.

Clearly, Ahn has a creative side to him. In an episode of I Live Alone, the actor said he has a “romantic idea about film cameras”, saying it “really felt different to get printed photos rather than pictures sent over our phones”. In the show, he’s seen exploring an antique shop, where he ends up buying himself an automatic film camera.

He values his parents, especially his mother

He may play a villain on screen, but his real-life persona is far from it – and he seems to be a mother’s boy at heart.
In the same 2020 episode of I Live Alone, the actor talks about inviting his mum to visit his place for the first time ever in 17 years. This is because, in the past, he thought his place was too small for his parents to see. Ahn shared his difficulties on living alone in Seoul, adding that, “I couldn’t live the life that my parents expected for me.”

In the episode, Ahn said he had to work multiple jobs, including becoming a part-time deliveryman. On one occasion, he recalled, his place was flooded with water reaching mid-calf due to a typhoon.
Hearing this, his mother replied in the same episode: “I knew that he’d had a hard time, but I didn’t know it was that bad,” before adding that she was very proud of him for coming so far.
He’s talked about his “ideal type”

In a Q&A interview on his YouTube channel, Ahn said one of the most important things he looks for in a woman is someone who respects the elderly. “Respecting elders and having good manners, that’s my ideal type. Not only respecting their own parents but being respectful to all elders in general,” he said.

Does Jisoo fit the bill? Blinks – Blackpink’s fans – would know how Jisoo, who’s the oldest Blackpink member but a maknae (the youngest) in her family, is a sweet girl, and shares a friendly relationship with her parents, per an interview with Rolling Stone.

She’s previously talked about how lenient they were, raising her with a lot of freedom, according to the interview. Fans believe that her upbringing plays a big part in her carefree and cheerful personality today.
The perfect boyfriend?

Both of these lovebirds have busy schedules – but they appear to make it work.
As reported by The Straits Times, they meet at Jisoo’s home whenever she returns from overseas, and Ahn is willing to adjust his schedule to accommodate Jisoo’s hectic itineraries.
The Times of India stated that their typical routine involves Ahn picking up food from a takeaway joint, then driving over to Jisoo’s flat to enjoy the evening together.

Although they’ve kept their relationship shrouded in mystery, they haven’t completely escaped fans’ eagle eyes. According to Kbizoom, the couple has been spotted on multiple occasions since May. The same publication quotes sources close to the two, who say they “share many common interests”.
