Hong Kong rising star Terrance Lau is not only a gifted actor, but also a fashion icon in the making with his impeccable style and daring sartorial choices. The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Drama School graduate started out in theatre before seamlessly transitioning into the world of TV and then film.

Lau rose to fame on TV with hits like Limited Education (2019) and impressed us in his debut film Beyond The Dream (2020) alongside his real-life partner Cecilia Choi, where they earned acclaim for their on-screen chemistry. He continued to shine in Anita (2021), portraying Hong Kong icon Leslie Cheung, and appeared in the horror anthology Tales From the Occult: Body and Soul this year.
Beyond his on-screen endeavours, he boasts 100,000 followers on his Instagram where he treats his fans to behind-the-scenes snaps, brand endorsements and glimpses of his impeccable style, often alongside his GF Choi. The 34-year-old has a particular flair for effortlessly accessorising his designer clothes with luxurious handbags.

Posing for a lift selfie, Lau rocked an all-black outfit complemented by Loewe’s super chic standard A4 tote bag in shiny black from its women’s collection. The practical bag features an envelope construction on the base and can be carried by top handles or with the detachable shoulder strap. Crafted in sleek calfskin and adorned with its debossed logo across the front, it’s priced at US$2,300.
2. Louis Vuitton Gaston

Lau made a stylish appearance at Louis Vuitton’s exhibition “Savoir Rever” in Hong Kong. He chose a grey ensemble, accentuated by cream platform trainers and a suave Gaston wearable wallet in optic white that goes for around US$2,000.
3. Fendi Peekaboo ISeeU

Who said men can’t rock Fendi’s covetable Peekaboo bag? The actor defied fashion norms for his stylish appearance at the Hong Kong Film Directors Guild annual dinner earlier this year. Dressed head-to-toe in a sophisticated neutral Fendi ensemble, he confidently carried a Fendi Peekaboo ISeeU X Cross handbag (around US$3,700) in bright orange leather to complement his look.

4. Gucci GG

Earlier this year, for Gucci’s store reopening event in Hong Kong, the actor dressed to the nines in a dazzling grey bejewelled suit that he matched with the Gucci jumbo GG backpack, a stand-out piece from its pre-autumn 2023 collection.
Featuring a reinterpretation the brand’s signature motif of Guccio Gucci’s initials, this functional yet stylish pack is made of emblematic leather and includes multiple pockets and shoulder straps, priced at US$3,900.
5. Ralph Lauren Wellington

Teaming up with Ralph Lauren for its autumn/winter 2022 collection show, the actor looked dashing in a crisp white shirt under a blue striped kimono-style jacket, paired with cream coloured shorts. He also flaunted the Ralph Lauren Wellington calf-suede backpack in navy, showcasing its exquisite craftsmanship with vachetta leather trim and stirrup-inspired hardware, a modern nod to Ralph Lauren’s equestrian heritage. In 2021, Lau flaunted the stunning Louis Vuitton’s Trio Messenger bag (around US$2,700), beautifully designed in Damier Salt canvas. The iconic material showcased an eye-catching weathered effect in a gorgeous stone-grey colour. This practical bag has three compartments for storing everyday essentials: a spacious main compartment, a removable zipped pocket, and a separate coin purse.
8. Loewe x My Neighbour Totoro

In 2020, Loewe’s irresistible collaboration with My Neighbour Totoro proved too charming for anyone to resist. Lau embraced the whimsical collection, sporting a white hoodie with 3D designs paired with jeans. Adding a touch of playfulness, he carried the adorable puzzle mini bag in stylish brown, adorned with susuwatari (black fuzzy-haired beings from the film). Handcrafted using leather marquetry and intarsia techniques, the bag is a work of art that Lau carried with ease.
9. Burberry Olympia

Remember when the Burberry Olympia Bag (around US$1,900) was the craze in 2020? Lau, too, apparently fell in love with its minimalistic allure. Embodying a winter aesthetic, the handsome actor embraced the brand’s iconic tartan winter coat and paired it with the sleek Olympia bag in a classic black colour.

10. Salvatore Ferragamo Tornabuoni 1927

While Lau isn’t afraid to experiment with vibrant colours and patterns, he is also a master at classic panache. In 2020, he showcased this blend of modernity and retro flair while posing with a Salvatore Ferragamo backpack for an Instagram post.
Lau’s navy-blue shirt and jeans perfectly complement Ferragamo’s black grained leather Tornabuoni 1927 backpack (around US$1,100). In his caption, he wrote, “I like things that go beyond time. It is both retro and stylish, mature and stable and young.”
