Fion Hui, or Fion Hui Sin-wai, is the latest young and fresh-faced Hong Kong model to watch.
Although East Asian stars are dominating fashion and pop culture alike these days, with luxury brands snapping them up as ambassadors left and right, Hong Kong A-listers are arguably trailing behind their counterparts from China and Korea. But Hui stands out among the rest as a gem from the Fragrant Harbour.

The Hong Kong-based towering beauty stands at a towering 180cm (5 ft 11 inches) and boasts a quiet charm and strong sense of style. Per her profile on Models.com, Hui is signed at modelling agencies in Milan and Singapore. Her extensive portfolio has landed her modelling gigs in Paris and Japan, besides.

She’s walked the runways of Armani Exchange and Dolce and Gabbana, and has fronted campaigns for Dior Beauty and Givenchy, to name a few. But what does this model on the rise wear off the runway? We take a closer look …

Keeping it casual

Perhaps a mark of a true model is one who can wear ordinary clothes and keep us captivated anyway. And Hui can do exactly that.

While her simple, casual outfits in neutral colour palettes appear to be her go-to on off-duty days, she pulls them off so elegantly and with a unique personal touch.

And when she does put on designer brands, it’s smashing.
Hui’s Instagram features the brands she’s modelled for on the runway, and we see her transform to a different girl with every look.

Case in point: for autumn/winter 2019, she emerged in a ladylike ensemble by Dior, a modern take on a 1950s look. Then, she’s in Louis Vuitton, embodying a chic and cool city girl.

At events, she’s seen donning full looks by Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, to name a few, and it’s crystal clear that the pieces don’t wear her – she wears them.

Hui’s Instagram feed features chic yet lesser known brands from across the globe, just waiting to be discovered.
A true fashionista isn’t limited to wearing only the latest from top fashion houses, but can also score rare and niche pieces from boutiques all around the world.

Her job as a model is likely an advantage in this case, as it introduces her to a bevy of cultures and styles outside the runway. We love how she embraces this and adds the best of what she’s seen to her personal style.

An open-minded style

She’s got her signature style for sure, but appears to remain open and adventurous.
It’s quite obvious that Hui leans toward a clean and sleek palette, sticking to classic silhouettes and monochrome looks.

Still, she’s also been known to fearlessly pile on prints and colours, or add a pop of colour to her typically clean palette. She looks chic and elegant either way.

Once again veering away from her usual signature look, Hui indulges in easy, breezy printed dresses, a true embodiment of boho chic. Her arsenal of prints will make you want to wear one, too.
