The Cannes Film Festival is back, folks! That means unreleased movie hype, French glamour, behind-the-scenes gossip, art films and, of course, dramatic red carpet fashion. Taking place from May 16 to 27 this year, the event promises the very best in global cinema and style.
Here are 12 of the chicest looks at the 76th annual Cannes Festival so far …
1. Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning stunned in a custom-made Alexander McQueen orchid dress inspired by the brand’s autumn 2023 collection. The actress attended the festival as an ambassador for L’Oréal at the Jeanne du Barry premiere.
2. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp donned a Dior double-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo. The actor, who stars in Jeanne Du Barry, made his red carpet comeback after a tumultuous couple of years.
3. Coco Jones

Coco Jones was one of the first stars to arrive at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. She was snapped outside Hôtel Martinez wearing a purple halter gown with a bandeau top and waist cut-outs.

4. Fan Bingbing

Fan Bingbing brought drama to the red carpet while also honouring her Chinese culture. Her strapless ball gown was custom-made for her by designer Christopher Bu. The dress’ bold print featured leaves and tigers, a symbol of bravery and strength in China.
5. Farhana Bodi

Farhana Bodi’s lime-green Atelier Zuhra gown was a red carpet show-stopper. The Dubai Bling star opted for neon feathers, which lined the dress’ strapless neckline, skirt and train. But underneath the fluff was another bold detail: a sheer corset.
6. Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren used accessories to her advantage at the Jeanne du Barry screening. Her periwinkle dress was pretty simple, with long sleeves, a V-shaped neckline and a wrapped column skirt. The rest of her outfit, however, was anything but. She carried a black fan printed with L’Oréal’s slogan “#WorthIt” – she’s the face of the make-up brand – and wore her hair in a dyed-blue updo.
7. Uma Thurman

With Chopard as the festival’s official partner, stars like Uma Thurman sparkled in the brand’s latest Red Carpet collection. The actress looked timelessly elegant in a Dior ball gown.

8. Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell also wore gorgeous creations from Swiss high jewellery maker Chopard. The supermodel matched her jewels with a sparkly frock from luxury fashion house Celine.
9. Carys Zeta Douglas

Carys Zeta Douglas, the daughter of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, wore a delicate Elie Saab dress. Her sleeveless, sheer gown was crafted from white lace, and two triangle cut-outs were placed across its waistline. The dress was also backless.
Meanwhile, mum Catherine oozed glamour in a red Elie Saab haute couture spring 2022 gown.
10. Gemma Chan

Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan was back on the Cannes red carpet as a L’Oréal representative. The actress looked angelic in a white custom Louis Vuitton gown.
11. Viola Davis

Viola Davis stole the show in feathers at the Monster premiere. The actress opted for a dramatic look from Maison Valentino.

12. Rose Bertram

Belgian model Rose Bertram was a vision in red. Bertram wore a red pleated lurex gown adorned with a voluminous satin duchess cape from Rami Kadi’s spring/summer 2023 collection.
