Widely regarded as one of the greatest cricket players of all time, Shane Warne’s sudden passing on March 4 sent shock waves throughout the global sporting world. Warne, 52, succumbed to natural causes while on a tropical holiday in Koh Samui, Thailand.
The Australian cricket legend is survived by his children, Brooke, 24, Jackson, 23, Summer, 20, and his ex-wife Simone Callahan.
Away from the game, Warne was also known to be a champion father. Let’s get to know his three wonderful children as we look back at the sporting hero’s light and jovial moments with them.
Brooke Warne

Brooke is Warne’s eldest child. Based on their social media shout-outs to each other, their father-daughter relationship was carefree and fun loving.
When Brooke turned 24 in June 2021, Warne even brought out some throwback pictures of them as part of his birthday greeting on his Instagram Stories. The sweet snaps showed the two sharing quality time on a beach and enjoying some ice cream.

Brooke has been in a long-time relationship with her partner Alex Heath and, according to Australian site Woman’s Day, the two were even rumoured to have tied the knot in 2022.
After his sports career, Warne did not keep it a secret that he wanted to spend more time with his family, particularly his children. An insider even told Woman’s Day that Warne “could not wait” to be a grandad.

Jackson, who has made several appearances on Australian television, is Warne’s only son. The father-and-son duo are known to share commonalities in maintaining a fit and active lifestyle. They even graced the front cover of Australia Men’s Health August 2021 edition, where they advocated for mental and physical well-being.
Jackson was often pictured playing golf and riding motorcycles with his cricketer father, and both are also known to be huge poker enthusiasts.

Jackson made headlines when he went Instagram official with his model girlfriend Kiah Broadsmith. Warne gave his seal of approval by leaving a comment on his son’s post and telling the couple that he loved them both.

Summer Warne

Summer’s relationship with her dad was easily recognisable as both candid and heart-warming. Days after her dad’s passing, the youngest Warne shared never-before-seen home videos of the cricket icon, highlighting his wacky antics.
Warne had always been proud of “SJ”, as he would fondly call her. The Australian legend once took to Instagram to wish his youngest daughter luck on a philanthropic trip to India, telling her how much he loves her and wishing her “a great time in India helping out all those beautiful children”.

Summer recently wrote a heartfelt tribute for her dad where she described him as “the best dad someone could ask for” while reminiscing on the time they spent together. “I miss you so much already,” she wrote. “I wish I could’ve hugged you tighter in what I did not know were my final moments with you.”

For a superstar like Warne, it’s almost impossible to live a life completely without controversy. Through it all though, his biggest regret was the effect that it had on his children.
“To hurt my children, who are the most important thing in my life, was really tough,” Warne told The 7:30 Report in a 2018 interview. “The effect I had on my children was [that] I let them down,” the star continued. “And I have to live with that for the rest of my life.”

Fortunately, it wasn’t too late for the “spin king” of cricket to turn it all around. “But I’m proud of the kids they’ve become and I’m proud of the father I’ve become,” he added.
